So as I sit down to watch Conan and I start to hear a strange sound, like a real loud lawn mower over head... at 12:30 am. So I go to the front window and there's about 4-5 cop cars all around the court in my neighborhood and even more scattered up and down the street. And sure enough there's a chopper circling above with a spotlight. Thankfully these guys aren't here for me, but it would seem they sure are after somebody with a vengence because it's been going on for a good 30 mins at least.
Kind of irks me too because there's not a bit of info anywhere about what's going on, there's been an amber alert out all day too in the county south of here and that makes me wonder if it has anything to do with this supposed manhunt.

Indianapolis, and yeah they always are at night, but times like this I wish I had an alarm system or at least one big, mean ass dog.

Could be, police in greenfield are on edge for it and we're northeast.

get a cheap but good shotgun from wal-marts, the maverick 88 is a very good shotgun for $200 and you can modify it with new stocks, grips, anything, but good luck with your worries

Well the helicopter moved further away and two of the cars left, but there's still at least a half dozen cars or so out there. Thing is, if these guys are here to search the area they are doing a fairly crappy job. They've stayed stationary for sometime now and a couple of them aren't even moving their searchlights around at all. Plus even by just looking out my window I can see big spaces of blackness and holes in the searh area where I'm sure they can't see either and nobody has a light trained there at all.

are these serches just a one time thing, or do you have alot of criminal activity around your house? Sounds to me like they are looking for somebody more dangerous than a kidnapper.

Nah, it may make me feel better for abit but I'd probably end up shooting myself somehow instead of the intruder. I actually do have a few guns I inheireted as part of my grandfather's gun collection in the house, but I highly doubt someone will be threatened by a 60+ year old Lee-Enfield # 4 infantry rifle wiht no ammo.

No it's not regular at all, I actually live to near the city limit, and we have the occasional car broken into and so on in the neiborhood but nothing major. There's some nearby apartments and neiborhoods that get some crime as well but nothing on a scale to which I'd think they'd go after someone this hard. Though I do know from talking on occasion with local law enforcement they go all out in they find leads on an amber alert case.

It sounds like Snake would have a field day with those guys.

So what part of town were you in? Probably gonna miss the newscast tomorrow, so I won't know if anything happened. Hope no one got hurt though whatever it was.

From the sound of it you have some dumbass cops in your town. Hey guys lets sit in the same spot while the criminal is on the run. Most cops set up a perimeter.

Close to Greenwood. Dunno if it will make the news at all, doubt it will unless they caught someone that was somewhat important given that it was so late. I plan to keep my out for any stories tomorrow just in case.
Also for a final update, seems like they all have finally left about 5 or so minutes ago. So I guess they must be done with whatever it they were doing (or moved onto the neighborhood next to mine).

Well it seemed a bit like a perimeter I guess, but it had some holes and from the looks of it they weren't montioring it as close as they really could have.
