I want to point out that this is semi wrong of a list... this is is the list of Playable games at E3 this year... there still has not been a list of games that will only be shown... so I'm sure Apossum will get his tastebuds back to a more DSish state.

Hopefully we will see a new 2D fighter. Maybe a new Street Fighter or Darkstalkers. Or maybe even Rival Schools. Doubt it though.

I'm thinking with them putting out the Darkstalkers comic and hopefully soon the Rival Schools that they might actualy make games for the series too. Same goes for Street Fighter. But who knows. I really don't want another collection. That's all we been getting. They need to step up tp high res 2D like Guilty Gear and make a new game. Sorry for the rant.

I really don't believe this... if Capcom really thought there was a profit to be had with new, 2D fighting games, they would have done it by now.

I think if a new fighter were to hit that was all 2D, yea, the hardcore gamers would eat it up, but I think the majority of people would just pass it over. It seems most 2D fighters have to be released at a budget price to even begin to be successful. And for it to be high res, means they'd have to redraw everything, and I don't think they'd get the profit to justify that.

I think Capcom's stance is that there are more people interested in the old games due to nostalgia, then there is demand for a brand new one.

Yeah it just sucks for hardcore figthing fans that we have to keep playing the same figthers over and over. It is about time for them to redraw the characthers though and make a new game. I understand the market and what not but maybe they can thing of something to bring people back into fighting games. I think now with online play it helps a lot. If they can get it up and running witH NO lag it might get more people to play. I know a lot of people that tried Guilty Gear based on how good it looked. Enough is enough with the rehashing. Also just to add, I been looking at some of the games that have been announced recently. And you say Capcom won't profit much from a new 2-D fighter. But I think if done right in Japan they would maybe not as much here. But look at Sega Rally. Sega knows that in Europe it will make the most profit off this game and thats about it. Yet they are still releaseing something and hoping it will catch on in the US. I think if Capcom can come up with something new or even add more to a sinlge player aspect of a 2D fighter they can get people to buy the game.

I thought Capcom was done with fighting games, esp their 2D fighters? Wish they do or try some thing new instead of rehash. Is Mega Man really that more popular than SF?

Yeah that's the game. The last trailor they released actually looked good. The first few times they showed the game it looked like crap. And about trying a new Street Fighter I just posted three times about it and ranted haha. Don;t make me rant again.
