I don't know, maybe it's my inner Metroid fanboy speaking out, but I think this DS is freaking awesome. Forget those naysayers on Kotaku. I would buy another DS (this one) just for the Metroid goodness.
I think its interesting looking.... but I'm not a person to really want those types of pics on my system designs. I'm also not a Metroid fan, so that might be a reason in me not loving it as well....

Yaeh well....i still don't care. The thing is cool. It's like to me a Halo Xbox look nothing more than just a green Xbox which it technically is (green is cool, just not labeling it as "Halo" and having nothing really Halo to it).

The Halo Xbox is definitely a translucent green, looks 342039 times better than a regular Xbox if you ask me.

All xbox systems are a VERY dark green, you have to take them outside in the sun to really notice! OT that DS was LAME, if it were a DS Lite that would be a different story but the original DS looks like a retarded PDA IMO.

I saw it in person, I thought the extra logos and shit were kinda ugly and a little much. A regular charcoal DS looks nicer, IMO.

Looks ok. If MP:H was actually a decent game I'd probably see it in a better light.
