And a note from speedy...

A moment of your time before we begin please. I just want to state for the record that last week’s e-mail attacks via my home e-mail address was totally unwarranted and uncalled for. I am truly sorry that some of you have chosen to attack ME in this manner when some DVD deal or price-matching scheme goes awry or is rejected for one reason or another. Please keep in mind that I report what I see, collate available data and try to list what are actual deals that will save you money; as well point out other lesser deals that might appeal to only a few. As such, I have ZERO control over what a BB, CC or Target manager will allow in terms of a DVDTalker getting a good / great deal. How could I?

That being said, I am grateful for the few souls who chose to comment on the situation both in the Bargains thread as well as those who sent word of encouragement to me via e-mail. I could disallow e-mails from DVDTalk but I feel that by making myself available in this manner that I might help someone who might be to afraid to post in the Forum or wants to ask me specifics of an item that might be listed in one of my threads. I have made the acquaintance of quite a few people by them reaching out to me privately and I am glad that I was able to help. I still encourage you to reach out to me in this manner if you so desire.

That in a nutshell is how I see my weekly threads to you, my DVDTalk bretheren: My attempt to help YOU save some hard earned money. In this day of rising gas prices, illegal immigrants demanding rights that only real citizen possess, and rampant crimes against each other; aren’t there MORE IMPORTANT things to debate / attack rather than me? I believe that there are.

Please be aware that I enjoy reporting to you all on a weekly basis BUT I cannot allow another instance of what happened last week. Should it re-occur, I will forward all e-mails / addresses to the moderators who watch this forum. Thereafter, I will then remove myself to another website and see if other folks can maintain a civil head and appreciate what one of their own is doing for THEIR benefit.

Thank you all for allowing me to comment publicly on what was a hurtful situation to me. {Stepping off soapbox now}

Your friend / reporter,

Speedy1961

I ask for any member of CAG who is also a member on the DVDTalk forums to please post thanks to Speedy. I for one am VERY appriciative and thankful for his contributions. Thanks in advance everyone.

Damn. I can't believe somebody would actually get pissed enough at a botched pricematch that they'd email the guy who posted them. What kind of dick does that? He's made a few mistakes along the line here and there, but sometimes the ad can be confusing. It's a small price to pay for us getting the ads a week early.

Yeah, people just don't respect each other anymore--they just take everything they have for granted. What a shame.

Has anyone had any luck with getting Circuit City to take one of Best Buy's $5 off coupons from their current coupon book? Kameo for $35 would be tempting.

Otherwise, yah, Starfox for me finally. I've been waiting since it launched for it to get to this price point. I've been very patient. If it doesn't suck, I'll be disappointed.

DVDTalk has a video game section, but it kinda sucks and is at www.videogametalk.com

It's a hell of a place to get DVD deals from though. I don't even look at CAG's DVD bargains section, since DVDTalk gets tons of exclusive deals as well as all the regular ones.

He mispriced Match Point: it was supposed to be 17.99 and he priced it as 14.99. Apparently the ad was misleading, and you know how sometimes the "Low Price" is hard to figure out.

I'm really not kidding... people had a fit over $3.

Anyway, if Zelda is the Four Swords version... I'm in. I'm not counting on it, but since both Four Swords and Star Fox are Players Choice now, its possible.

People pitched a fit on $3? Damn. That's pathetic, since they're getting the ads early, and for that, they should be very thankful.

One thing I'm glad is that my newspaper carrier brings my ads a day early, so I can double-check them just in case.

That Black and White 2 expansion is $7.99...? That has to be some sort of misprice or mistake on his part, since MSRP is $19.99.

Why would CC go almost 60% below MSRP??

Geez what a bunch of idiots. Anyone should know by now that CC and BB dont always have their sale price on new releases in the ad. It's done that way because one or the other can change their price in different markets if need be. Usually, it's a general sale price but they keep the whole "lowest price" on the ad just in case they dont need to sell it at the lower price. Either way, it's pretty pathetic to do a whole campaign against someone when you could have easily looked at a tag and saw the price was different and realizing what's up with just simple common sense.

I believe single player is with the GC standard controller. 2 or more players, and you'd have to switch to GBA with link cables for each player. Same as FF:CC.

Is Four Swords worth picking up as a single player game? No one to play it with but I kinda want to add it to my Zelda collection. If the single player is a complete waste of time though, I might reconsider.

yes it is playable and fun in single player mode. and if you have enough Zelda games for it to be considered a collection...well, you MUST buy it.

i was fortunate enough to play it with my fiance (yes, that's right, my fiance :D ) and i can say multiplayer mode is the way to go if you can. all of the laughing, arguing, and teamwork make it a blast to play.

He didn't make a mistake.

I have the ad in-hand, and it says it's for $7.99. No missing "1" from the price.

Remember, they did this for the first week of Warhammer 40K: Dawn Of War - Winter Assault.

Now I just need to find the B&W2 game on the cheap. :-s

Amazing... I was just thinking of that Winter Assault deal, but didn't think they'd do it twice. I wonder if it's some kind of printer error then? Because it just seems weird they would slash off 60% of the price.

I still haven't even opened my B&W 2 I got from Best Buy for $20 during the $10 coupon phase, but I don't think I'll pass on the expansion for $8. Better make sure to get there when they open, since they probably only have 1 copy.

The game isn't even on their website... typical Circuit City.

Well, I pulled up their sales add off of their website to verify and it is listed there. I'm all over this - I picked up the game for my wife for Christmas and she loved it, so I can't turn down grabbing her the expansion for $8. And heck, it's probably about time I played the game myself. ;)

With high-volume items like this, if they order more than demand within the chain, it's catastrophic. I certainly never go to CC to buy RPGs, myself.
