Stopped in Target last night and swung by the games section just for fun. I haven't found any clearance games since before Thanksgiving so I wasn't expecting much.

Much to my surprise they had a bunch of games on clearance, but at a very unappealing 30% off. I don't recall all of the titles but I'll list the ones I remember:

Metrioid Prime Echoes (GC) $13.98
Pikmin 2 (GC) $13.98
Shrek 2 GBA $13.98
Sonic GBA $13.98

In November my Target moved almost all of their GC, GBA, Xbox & PS2 games out of the glass case and put them on a back endcap. They needed the room for the Wii & PS3 games. They only have a handful of newer titles behind glass.

What's more interesting is I caught a bit of conversation with 2 of the employees who were going through all of these games with a price gun. From what I caught it appears as if they are getting ready to clear out all of these titles. So I think we can expect some significant price drops at Target in the near future.

Wondering if anyone has seen the Twilight Priness collector's box cheaper than $19.98- I price checked them at my Target this morning and they are still that price. They must be going on at least 2 weeks at this markdown.

sorry if it's been posted but Capcom classics collection vol.2 for ps2 is 9.99.

i'm not sure what all are on it but it does have a perfect arcade port of super street fighter 2 turbo no loading too. that game overall is relatively rare on any system. so worth the 10 bux just for that.

Yesterday afternoon I checked out the local Target. Picked up:

Killer 7 - Cube - $7.48
Battalion Wars - Cube - $7.48
WWE Day of Reckoning 2 - Cube - $9.98
Viewtiful Joe Double Trouble - DS - $9.98

Saw Pikmin 2, Pac-Man Adventures or whatever the heck it was, both for Cube, as well as a bunch of PS2 sports titles, Shaman King Power of Spirit, and some other stuff I wasn't interested in. More clearance games than I've seen at once at my local Target in literally two years.

So has it been completely confirmed here that the Dreamfall PC from Target is Starforce free? I never even knew there was a Limited Edition, but I assume the $7.98 one from Target is the regular version. Two CAGs here and a website have said it's clean, so I trust your judgment.

Those Zelda Swords are disappearing fast at $19.98. I got one for myself before they all vanished rather than risking it before another price drop. They have a few left, but the thing is heavy and it doesn't qualify for media mail rate, so shipping it would be around $8.05 pretty much killing the deal for other CAGs. You'd be looking at around $30 shipped just to break even.

Was very tempted to get Gunpey DS for $14.98, but managed to hold out for another drop.

Someone here was looking for Xenosaga 2 earlier. Not the best deal, but almost every Sears and K-Mart I go to has it generic stickered for $14.99. It was one of the titles most stores stocked up on for Christmas.

I mentioned the iPod Hi-Fi a little while ago. I went to Target again yesterday and it was down to 50% off ($174.99). Still too rich for my blood, but if anybody sees it go lower it would be good to get a heads up here. I'll try and do the same. I'll probably stop by again on Friday and definitely on Monday. $87 would be an absolutely amazing deal for this system. My Target only has one of them, though, so I'm worried that it'll disappear before it can go that low.

Yeah a Target near here at last check had 2 of them. I'm hoping they last til the 75% drop.

The reviews were positive. I have it on the Wonderswan from like 10 years ago. Interesting puzzle game if you are into puzzle games.

It was an honest question on my part. A few of the BB summer clearance games have gone back up in price since the summer.

I went to Target today and picked up a copy of Gunpey for DS at $14.98. It will probably still be there at $7.50 since most Americans have never heard of this game, but I didn't really want to chance it. Also grabbed some DS cases they have that are $5 for a pack of 3. Each case holds 3 DS games. I like these better than the tiny individual DS cases because those are too damn easy to lose, especially if you're traveling and looking for them in a bag full of your crap when you're on an airplane or something (just went through that recently).

Pretty much all sporting goods and camping equipment is 50% off at Target now. I grabbed a couple Spalding mini-basketballs for my arcade basketball game for $3.50 each. I saw a ton of stuff that I'll buy if it hits 75% off, including a $200 foosball table that's $100 right now and a $200 tent with a screened-in sunroom that's $100 right now. They are decent buys now, but for $50 each I won't pass them up. Also, if some of the cheaper accessories hit 75% off, I'll have to stock up. Right now the rain-proof butane lighters (normally $20) are $10 and collapsible weenie roasting sticks are $1, for example. Anyone know if and when the sporting goods stuff might hit 75% off?

I looked for the Ipod thingee you guys are talking about and couldn't find any Ipod stuff on clearance. Guess my store doesn't stock it or it's priced wrong.

also, as darkwingduck13 found, a bunch of gc/ps2/xbox games were marked down... most around the $14.98 mark, but also a lot at $7.48 and $9.98.

Seems like it would be clearance if it is red tagged, probably more definently clearance. And Target clearances usually have the same games store-to-store, but not always the same price. Anyways, is this game anything special? I never really bothered to look into it much. If it is good, I will look for it next time I go to Target.

Oh and just FYI, I saw that iPod HiFi thingy at my Target at something like $175, instead of the $200something I'd seen some mention it at.

Actually you'd be quite surprised at how many Target employees keep the stuff for themselves when they hit 75%. I've many a time overheard Target employees making sure they got all the good clearence stuff before they got marked down for the public. Kinda pisses me off that they can do that, but I guess if you worked there you would do the same thing.

That is why you stash stuff in the store. I've scored items from $2.98-$4.98 due to the fact no one finds them and they eventually are removed from Target's System. As a matter of fact I hid one of those Twilight Princess Shield's at a Target in Texas during the holidays and pretty sure I can get my bro to pick it up when it is out of the system. I know this is wrong to a certain extent, but like many members I'm fed up with the amount of stuff employees deprive the consumer. I'll admit I'd do the same if I was an employee, so stashing stuff is my way at getting it before employees have the oppurtunity.

Got this at release. Seemed barebones and boring after about two hours. Then, as with all great puzzlers with huge re-playability, something *clicked* and I have been unable to get this out of my PSP for two months.

Stick with it and you will be rewarded.

Also: Practice your ass off on 10x10 mode and you will OWN in standard.

Thanks for the tip. I went in today and picked mine up. They must have had about 20 on Monday, down to just about 7 this evening. Of course the ones that were there had the 29.98 sticker on them which is probably the only thing keeping them there.

I didn't get anything else everyone's been bragging about- my Target is barren.

Where'd you get the 10% off coupon?

I have a Target credit card. They sent out the coupons to everyone that spent $250 on the card over the holidays, I think.

Also, in general, they send you a 10% off coupon (for an entire day of shopping) for every $1,000 you spend. It's better than the usual reward of other credit cards (typically 1% or 2% cash back), if you use it to buy something big. The only downside is that the coupon typically has a relatively close expiration date.

I normally don't advocate store-related credit cards, but if you don't carry a balance, this is a pretty good card to have.

damn, wish my target would have kirby cc and yoshi tag. i saw a gameboy player at the one near me a couple weeks ago and i'm kicking myself for not buying it. two days later it was goneee.

Zoo Keeper is basically an improved version of Bejeweled. Very addictive little game, and the puzzle mode gives it quite the replay value.

I picked up Battalion Wars @ $7.48 and Donky Conga 2 for $9.98. I am having a blast with Donky Conga 2 ... I had no idea it had so many good songs!

If your local Target never has jack, you might still want to swing by and check the clearance section for the recent drops. My Target never even has the normal sale items and yet today there were multiple copies of FFI-II (about $21), Zoo Keeper ($10.50), Sonic 3 ($14), and Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubador ($18).

Oh, and as for my earlier question about whether you can still get a refund on a Zelda sword/shield at full price: you can, it is just considered a normal item at Target. They won't let you re-buy the same one though so I had to buy one for $20, remove the clearance tag, and return it with my old receipt in order to keep the one I originally bought.

Got the DS version yesterday. I always choose control over looks.

Now I'm thinking of reconsidering.

This has to be the fugliest game ever. It's like someone took the already weird Puyo Pop Fever art style, merged it with Street Fighter II-like 4 frame animation, but had absolutely no sense of color. Or when to stop.

It hurts my eyes and my brain. The music is nothing to write home about, either.

Went to target for Gunpey and found out they just had a fresh shipment of Wii's and accessories. Did'nt get Gunpey, but I bought a Wii and an extra nunchuck and remote!

does anyone who picked up the PSP version of Gunpey have the DCPI for it (it is the item number located on the receipt)? this should allow some of us to do a vicinity search to see if local targets carry it...

also, if some of you can't find it, Gunpey for PSP dropped to $19.99 at Eb/Gamestops B&M and online...

My local Parmatown Target had quite a few GCN, PS2, and PSP titles in the bargain bin section. Most of the deals were mediocre so far. They had Killer 7 for $7.48, Baten Kaidos: Origins, Resident Evil 4, Star Fox Assault and more for around $13.98. They did have one set of Donkey Kong 2 w/ Bongos for $9.98. Not much was dirt cheap yet.

I noticed this and picked up the DS version at Target a few days ago. I figured I'd give it a try after seeing it on the 1up show, but man, the whole presentation is seriously obnoxious.

When I got EBA I thought it was a little quirky and Japanese, but Gunpey is just ridiculous in comparison. The gameplay itself is pretty slick, but I guess this game just isn't my style.

although i'm a supporter of this game having its own thread, the good lil' cag in me says it should be posted in the "target clearance thread"

this game got really good ratings and it's also has 2-player vs and co-op (although the co-op kinda sucks without the onscreen controls at the bottom of the screen). well worth the price, considering i got it for like 30.00 when it came out.... gah!

My local Target had a few of the Gamecube games for $13.98. I was upset until I looked and there sat 6 brand new gleaming Wii's. Of course I grabbed the 1 they would let me purchase. 5 still left when I left. The guy working said they had just received them about 1 hour ago. Unfortunately, I live in ten buck two (Mount Dora) Florida, but if you are near there you might check.
