The Wii will be rated FB (for baby) and you must be 8 years of age or younger to purchase it. If you have any form of ID, then your probably too old to own something called the Wii.
Nintendo says the inspiration for the name comes from a trip to a farm where the pigs ate GCN controllers and kept suggesting the name "WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!! WIIIIIIII!" Nintendo wisely abbreviated the name simply to Wii.
What do you do when your in need of a very big console hit to get you ahead in a serious next gen console war? Give your system a name that even 6 year olds would find immature.
