I saw this game used at my local EB the other day for $20 and I was just wondering if anyone has played it.

I've read a couple of reviews on the net, and I love Ikaruga, and I was wanting someone else's opinion on this cube shooter. I remember reading it came out sometime this past holiday season (December I think) but beyond that I never saw it mentioned much.

Thanks!

It's discontinued for one. It's not nearly as good as Ikaruga, but since it's the only other shooter I'm aware of on the GC, it's relatively worthwhile if you love the genre.

Its $20 new.

Its nowhere near as good as Ikaruga

If you like shmups, its worth $20 imo

The entire game is bossfights. There are no swarms of small enemies to take out. Just gigantic multiscreen filling bosses. If your a fan of 'bullet hell' you'll feel right at home here.

I picked this up from EB earlier this week. From the same publishers as Alien Hominid. So it's the shootemups of 'Shadow of Colossus?' Sounds good to me.

I liked Ikaruga, but that was a tough game!

Thanks for the advice. My bad, the game was new and not used for $20. I think I might pick it up this weekend.

I'm not a huge shootemups fan, but I've always enjoyed the genre, even as far back as the NES days. I remember when I first got my NES for Xmas, besides the Mario/Duckhunt pack-in, the only other game my folks got for me was Star Soldier, and I played the heck outta that. (Even tho it was frustratingly hard).

Frustratingly hard is the hallmark of most shmups. How else are you gonna extend replay value on a game that would only take 45 minutes to beat with an invincibility code? =p Its all about pattern recognition and staying cool under pressure. :D
