Ummmm, I'm not sure if this is a deal per se, but Malice suddenly showed up on store shelves today; and Gamestop has both the Xbox and PS2 versions for $29.99. I'm not sure if that's the MSRP or not, but at EBgames it's $49.99, so, whatever.

I didn't think it would ever be released. Nice to see they finally got the game out

Yes she did, but it's still up in the air as to whether the new publisher has kept the rights to put her voice in the game.

It couldn't be released. It must have escaped.

Note that the developer and publisher are now listed as 'Jack of All Games.'

Is this a gaming industry equivalent of Alan Smithee?

I don't think that is accurate, according to IGN Mad Duck is now the publisher.

Edit: LMAO, EBgames says the publisher is Bethesda, so I think I'm going to stick with IGN's story.

Isn't "Jack of All Games" publishing owned by Take Two?

Hahaha, horrible box art. Though I can't believe it's actually out after 3 years.

Just did some research. Gwen Stefani is NOT in the game as a voice, which I suspected since about a year ago No Doubt removed themselves from the project. Apparently it was released in Europe in early April. Apparently the game is very easy and short, and has repetitive gameplay. Sounds like a winner.

Much like movies that don't let critics prescreen for review, you can already tell this may be bad because of the covert release...

I remember when they first released info about the xbox and this was one of the games they were showing besides that oddity game. They were saying how it was supposed to be one of the first games out for the xbox....if it was it might of actually sold good. Now it will probably be a sleaper thus the $29 price tag.

This is from my post in another forum:

There's mixed information on this game. The original game (which was apparently 100% done) had about 90 levels and included the voicework of No Doubt, with Gwen as the lead.

I've heard that the new publisher wanted to gear it more towards kids, so No Doubt's voicework was cut from the game, and they shaved the levels down to a mere 24, give or take. Not good changes, since now the game apparently plays as if it's only half there.

No doubt. I haven't heard of this game, but a quick check on GameRankings shows a 60.5% score with only 2 reviews. Maybe 30 bucks isn't such a good deal after all.

This doesn't even register a blip on my radar; one look at the awful character models and blurry textures (on an XBOX? What the frick?) did it for me.

Whats sad is they had interviews with No Doubt on the Xbox demo disk. i was actually looking forward to this. Now, not so much.

I'm not sure about that, but I know at some point (not all that long ago, either) Bethesda was listed as the publisher of the game, after it got dumped by the second publisher. Can't really say that's EBGames fault if it's wrong. This game has made the rounds with the publishers, that's for sure.

But anyway, I didn't look at the site, but it shouldn't be $49.99 at EBGames and if it is, it should change shortly. It's been listed as $29.99 in their system for several months now and I picked it up at B&M yesterday for that price.

Don't ask how it plays, though. I just messed with it for a few minutes at work before buying it (yes, I work at EB) and haven't actually sat down to play it since getting home yesterday. :)

Like the fairy tale Cinderella this game turned into a pumpkin at the stroke of midnight. Avoid at all cost.

This is just strange. I read in EGM's July 2004 issue that 2 other games for the xbox had been cancelled mand that this one was having trouble getting released. Someone said that this was more aimed at kids even though it is rated T for teen. Everything about this game is stupid considering how long it took to come out.

This game looked great years ago and now it's fallen after such a long time. No Doubt is out which means platformer music, YEAH!!!!! one less bouns. Plus it's out on the PS2. What!? This was a game used to show off the Xbox, what's it doing on the PS2? personally and what alot of other people say, pass it till it goes clearance at Target or somewhere else.

Does target even have it for that matter?

First off, it's Mud Duck, not "Mad Duck."

Second, it's a shame that No Doubt's not in the game. I could just see Malice TV ads with "I'm Just A Girl" in it.

Here's the site if anyone's interested.
http://www.mudduckgames.com/games/games-malice.html

Also, if you click the "games" link on the top of the page, it still lists Malice as "Coming Soon."

I have a feeling that this could either end up a rarity, or it could be one of those games that collects dust on store clearance shelves alongside Haven and Everquest Online Adventures.

I wouldn't pay more than $10.

And finally, if you don't own Qix Neo on PSX, get it ASAP. Releasing that game is probably the best thing Mud Duck has done to date.
