Finally... I feel sorry for all those people who're holding on to their precious Mario DDR sealed so they can resell for a huge profit. Oh wait, no I don't.

Hm.. new Super Mario Bros. (guess that's the final name?) for $30. Should I bite?:-k

MSRP is $35 and it'll probably never go on sale again.

I feel a sense of deja vu, but anyway... hot price on NSMB.

Over the Hedge might be worth looking into (but not at that price) as it surprisingly got an 8.2 over on IGN.

Anyone have a clue what this exclusive Nightcrawler level is at Target? Wasn't planning on getting X-Men till it was cheap, but curious if that exclusive will last for as long as Target carries the game.

Wouldn't be the first time. They have gotten special pressing before. Such as Mario Golf for the cube had an exclusive Target Bullseye Tour if you bought it at target.

So, who's going to be our bitch and buy Target's version to see if it's a code or special pressing? *looks at botticus.....*

I think I'll wait a day to see what turns up about it here on the forums, and grab it Wednesday. If it is a special pressing, I'll totally buy it from Target for the Nightcrawler level. If it's just a stupid code, I'm hitting CC for the free Spidey game.

As a side note, NSMB could not possibly be more mine. I have to agree with viewtiful7, it really has been far too long. Now I have a reason to dust off the DS before the new DS Zelda game comes out. Can't wait for that one!

Oh, man. I wish I knew I knew whether Nintendo was gonna run a Mario bundle on the DSLite, cause that's a nice price.

If only all those old folks hadn't wanted so many DSLites in Japan, Mario and the DSLite would have released on the original date they had (May 7th) and this wouldn't be a concern. I'd be playing it right now!

Anyone know which Spiderman game that is on the CC deal? I've been tempted to pay $20 for Ultimate Spiderman for a while now, and if that's the free game, then the X-Men game will essentially be $20 itself...sounds good.

The shortage in Japan has nothing to do with the launch in America. If NOA wanted to launch the DS Lite + Mario on May 7th, they would have.

The DS Lite's June launch is absolutely due to the Japanese shortages. Nintendo chose to avoid the silly semi-worldwide shortages of the Xbox 360, working to please Japanese fans, then launching in the US when enough hardware could be produced.

It may very well be that the 5 PM bit is in the ad since most stores won't have the said two in until that afternoon. There is no memo or anything at this point of time saying we have to wait until 5 PM to start selling it but I wouldn't be surprised if stores hold off simply because of the ad saying that.

Fry's Ad shows NSMB is going to be 26.99, available by 4pm tuesday.

Which knowing how BB and CC stock, it won't get onto their shelves until WED at the earliest. They don't midday restock. Usually my local CC is the last place to shelve games and gets it done thursday.

Fry's Also has The Da Vinci Code for PS2 and X-Box advertised for 29.99, avaible by the same deadline as NSMB. I noticed the other ads didn't even advertise this game. I know it's not going to be the most popular product, but it is releasing next to the movie, so that's sure to gather interest.

Pretty good deal, since the MSRP is 39.99. I'm hoping the PC version will be around 24.99, since it's MSRP really is 29.99

Also, they say Low Price Guarantee for X-Men on all last-gen. Game doesn't look that hot for me, and if I was to get it it'd be on the 360 anyways.

Those of you lucky enough to be near a Fry's enjoy!

As of lately most new release games have been coming in via FedEx Overnight. Therefore its very likely CC will have NSMB by Tuesday at 5 PM. Hell I remember my CC getting Nintendogs several days early.

You can check Best Buy's in store locator to see when the game pretty much gets delivered... I've done this for both Oblivion and Kingdom Hearts 2, and then, since it's usually not the shelf at that time, they go in the back and get it for you.

Best Buy will have it Tuesday, so will CC.

mkm1998

Haha, okay then all the stores should have it in on tuesday.

But Fry's is still 1$ cheaper than CC. Doesn't mean much the way gas prices are these days, but just letting people know if they happen to be lucky enough to have one nearby.

Yea, that kinda gets annoying. Because everytime I go into Best Buy doing that it's the same conversation.

Me: Hi I'm looking for XX.
BB: Did you check the shelves?
Me: Yes, I did, and it wasn't there, but your website says you have it in stock.
BB: Well, we don't have a stockroom, so if it's not out there, we don't have it. Just because a product is listed on our website doesn't mean we carry it.
Me: Yes I realize that, but when I select product pick up at this location, you MUST have that item in stock, isn't that correct?
BB: Well, we don't run that website....but look I'll check for you anyway.
(Goes on computer, punches it up....sees that it says in stock, look of shock hits employee)
BB: Um...it says we have copies, let me go check the back.
Me: Oh, but I thought you said you don't have a stockroom.
BB: Ummm, yea I'll be right back.
(After waiting a few minutes they come back)
BB: Yea, it turns out it was delivered to us just minutes before you arrived.
Me: But it's Thursday, and the game came out Tuesday.
(I know this is a line they use, either that or I'm always following a ups truck)
BB: ......Well here's your game...anything else?

It's fine by me if they're lazy to stock games. I mean I don't care if they don't sell any copies, (Or maybe they just do that so they don't have to sell them at the discount prices) but don't tell me a outright lie that you don't have a stock room. So where did you go to look for the game, the garbage bins?

Haha, okay a little rant. And this isn't a slam on Best Buy alone. I've been the victim of this at all stores.

Best Buy: Mario Pinball and Myst End of Ages
Circuit City: Too many to list
Fry's: Trace Memory. (Missed their 4pm guarantee, didn't offer me anything. Didn't even come in the next day. What's the point of the guarantee if I'm not compensated for their failure?)

Yea, CC PM is pretty sweet. You don't have to have an ad do you? They just call the store?

They did that for me when I went in for WoW. Got it PM for 29.99, and then they did the 110% thing to bring it down to 27.99. :)

Demolition Man works for CC, and if he says Tuesday (even though the ad says 5/17) I trust his opinion. Even if he is my bitter arch rival.

Best Buy's website says the release date is 5/16, so barring some kind of cataclysm event, they'll have it in store 5/16, and I'll PM the CC ad there.

They don't do price matches, but you can always just tell them you want your cash back if you still have the receipt. If you don't have the receipt or you originally paid in store credit, you can still use the credit on something else in the future.

They don't do price matches, but you can always just tell them you want your cash back if you still have the receipt. If you don't have the receipt or you originally paid in store credit, you can still use the credit on something else in the future.

The PM option is in GS/EB's system so the possibility is there, it's just a matter of if the employees will ( or can) do it.

shipping might take sveral days but overstock has a stackable 10% off and free shipping coupons, so it would be barely over $30. i wouldve ordered by now, but their paypal payment option is down now

Where's the love for Rise of Legends? That game snuck out quietly a week ago or so, and from what I've played of the demo and an... obtained copy, it was awesome! I'm definitely picking that up at CC along with NSMB.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Just realized I will definitely be getting this at BB... I have $10 in RZ certs I forgot about, that'll bring the price down to 17.99 even if I can't get them to stack my GGC on the PM. Consider my GR preorder cancelled (of course, now they'll probably get the game in tomorrow).

I think it would've been difficult. The Fry's ad, at least, clearly states that it's not available till Tuesday at 4pm.

I'm wondering about Mario like some others. I've seen a lot of posts saying it'll be out today after 5 or so, but the original post here says that its tomorrow that they should have it out by 5, but when I looked at the online add I didn't see a specific date. Anyone have an update on this?

I suppose now that the stores are opening up, we can just call them and find out.

Just go back with the CC ad and get them to price adjust. Early game, and cash back +10% of the difference -- win-win.

Not to toot my own horn, but Costco had 20 of them at $29.99, so if there isn't a circuit city close enough to price match, there's your alternative.

Let me tell you about my little CC adventure.

I walked in during my lunch break and looked for NSMB. Nowhere to be seen. I know BB has it and TRU has it but TRU won't pricematch and BB is across town. I asked the guy working the area. "Oh, it'll be in at 5PM. I can gurantee that". I figured they were getting a shipment late or hadn't unpacked it or something. "So it's not in now?" I replied. "Not Yet" he says. I walk to TRU next door and see they have copies for sale but I resist the temptation to pull the old buy now- buy later- swap-return gambit. I think. I then check the CC ad where it says "Tuesday 5PM". It dawned on me that this bastard was sticking to the time like some kind of street date. I went back to the store and spied a small box that had been opened and then partially closed by the electronics checkout. I suspected this was NSMB. I pretended to look at crappy DVDs nearby until a customer came and distracted the guy. I "dropped" a dvd and opened the box. Jackpot!! I grabbed a copy and tried to quickly yet casually make my way to the front checkout (where they will be oblivious to any street date nonsense). There was a long line (1 cashier!!) and I nervously waited my turn. Finally, they guy checked me out and I was outside the store with my contraband purchase!!

I only wish I could have walked back into the store with the game and my receipt to that guy in the game section and said "Look what I just bought! I thought it wasn't in, BIATCH!" and walked out. But oh well. I have NSMB.

Yeah for some reason advertisements for videogames tend to list times. No other type of media does that.

Because, in the case with NSMB, I believe they received the game today, but since delivery times vary wildly for every store, they don't just want to put the date since people will show up at 10 am looking for the game. This way, by putting 5 pm, it gives every store the entire day to receive its stock. I had to ask for my NSMB, the guy had to go in the back and get it.

All other media, like CD's / DVD's, are delivered way ahead of schedule, so they can go out Tuesday morning.

I can understand that, but this guy was refusing to sell it at all until 5PM. That's not the point of the time in the ad. What's more, he blatantly lied about it being in. I hate it when I know/find out sales people in a store like that are BS'ing me.

If he said he had it in, but couldn't sell it until 5 pm, would you have said "Ok, thanks" or would you have made a big scene, pointing out times in the ad and getting managers involved?

He was probably just wanting to avoid a potential scene.

I mean, I know that's not the point of the time, and so do you, but I guess he interpreted it a different way.

*nods and smiles* quite true my friend. If you seem to be there and there's no one else around, we keep all of our dvd's UNDER the tables that the dvd's and stuff are stored.

Though, if it's a week or so ahead from the date that it's supposed to be out, and we have room in the steel, usually we just leave it up there as it's easier.

Comp USA price matches as well; as long as you can show them proof. Which would then be followed up by with a call to the nearest CC.

Curious about that NightCrawler level as well...I assume it would be a code of some sort...Unless Target got special pressings on the game with the the level already on it...

hate to shift topics in this thread, but did anyone find out about the Nightcrawler level in the Target version of Xmen? Was it just a code or do they really have a special edition of the game?
