did they tell when the PSP downloads will start

also will the PS3 use the same memory cards that the PSP uses (i heard it would)

no news for the psp makes me wonder if sony knows they are dealing with a system that could be done for in another year

Only that they are going to do the Greatest Hits Program for it and few games to start it are:

ATV Off Road Fury
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee
Wipeout Pure

and a couple of more that slip my mind at the moment.

Also, they talked about how they are going to have the PS1 emulator for you to download to a memory stick.

Just because not much was announced at the press conference doesn't mean that more won't be announced. There is still a lot of time left in E3.

I'm stoked for the Silent Hill PSP game, and MGS. Pretty much validates the PSP purchase for me right there. I could care less if another game ever comes out for the system.

There are a lot of great PSP titles on the horizon, although we knew about them pre-E3:

Valkyrie Profile Lenneth
Monster Hunter Freedom
Power Stone Collection
FFVII: Crisis Core
Ratchet & Clank

I'd like to see a Devil May Cry title for the PSP, as well as a bonafide Final Fantasy RPG. Although she had a rough start, I think the PSP is really starting to shine, thanks to a constantly improving library.

Konami must be morons... no... they HAVE to be.

There is no Suikoden 1 + 2 announced, yet they are making and bringing out over here a Rengoku 2? Another Coded Arms??

I can understand Death Jr 2, they want to make a franchise and it had a little bit of potential, but cmon, Rengoku???

I have little confidence in the PS1 emulator/downloads .

Using Ridge Racer as an example seems cool , because it was one of the first PS1 games .
But RR loads completely into system (PS1) memory , not an impressive feat .
I remember loading RR in my PS a playing my own music CD's while I played .

Sony has really disappointed me . A PS2 , PSP but most likely not a PS3 owner .

Wow... the PSP's really getting shit on by the DS right now. The only new games announced that sounded like they were any good were Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Lumines 2, and Silent Hill... aside from that, the only stuff that even looked acceptable was the onslaught of ports. I'll admit that I can't wait for Valkyrie Profile or Power Stone Collection, but it'd be nice to see more original content...

I'd venture to say that every single on of those games you mentioned will be AMAZING.

The big name DS games that were announced at E3 looked alright but nothing amazing. Star Fox looks like garbage graphics and who wants free roaming Star Fox? New Super Mario looks cool. Not sure about Yoshi's Island 2 yet. Don't take this to be me ragging on the DS because in all actuality I plan on getting a Lite in 4 weeks but only because of the games that are already out, not the ones that are coming out.

I disagree about past portable Zeldas being average (i think they've captured the Zelda essence incredibly), but I am concerned about this latest iteration of it. I don't like the idea of not being able to directly control Link and being forced to use the stylus to instead direct around the game world. It just doesn't seem as interesting.

I'd venture to say that every single on of those games you mentioned will be AMAZING.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see what could be so AMAZING about Lumines 2, Silent Hill Origins or Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. Lumines 2 will be more of the same. Not saying that this is bad, but I did get sick of Lumines a while back. Metal Gear Solid will just be more Metal Gear, hopefully - the last two Metal Gear outings on PSP kind of sucked. And Silent Hill could be cool, but aren't Silent Hill games meant to be scary? I don't think I could ever get scared or even mildly creeped out while playing a game on my morning commute. Then again, I was never huge on Silent Hill.

I find myself looking into the future of the PSP and seeing almost nothing. I'll be buying Loco Roco this summer - the Japanese demo is fairly awesome - and Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, pending positive reviews. Aside from that, all I see are ports of games that I already own [Power Stone Collection] or of games that I never wanted or liked [Valkyrie Profile]. I've been waiting for games I'd really want on the PSP, but I just can't find any. I got the PSP with Lumines and Wipeout, but since then all I've bought was Tokobot. Even when I was in Japan, I couldn't find a single PSP game that I wanted.

I'm hoping that the project that David Jaffe is working on is announced soon, because maybe that will be just what I'm looking for.

I just hope that Lumines 2 brings something significant to the table... I loved the first game, but I'll be disappointed if the second game has nothing new other than different backgrounds.

MGS is guaranteed to be amazing though and Silent Hill will probably end up fantastic as well.

Kind of a disappointing E3 for the PSP... not really alot of stuff that wowed me, just some hard copies of things that were rumored (MGS game, Silent Hill game) and some playable stuff we knew about (Ratchet & Clank).

No real surprises, and showing Ridge Racer on the PS1 emulator was stupid.

The PSP had an awesome showing at E3, playables-wise. I had lots of fun just being able to spend a lot of time in Sony's booth moving between PSP units of great games. Field Commander, Ratchet and Clank, Lemmings, Loco Roco, Tekken DR, Ultimate Ghosts N' Goblins, Lumines 2, E3, Sonic Rivals, MGS:DGN, and WTF were some of the games I had a lot of fun with.
