It's settled, not a happy ending, but settled.

The moral of the whole story? Don't send gba games via reg evelopes. Either that or don't listen to me :)

Wasn't too smart to send it in a regular envelope. How hard do you think it was to spot that was was something in there worth getting into??

I would talk to the post office first of all. Let them know about the hole in the package and what game it is. I doubt someone would go through such an elaborate scheme to screw you over, but you never know. Maybe the post office has found the game.

Why did he send a note saying the game was inside? If the game was ever inside you wouldnt need a note to let you know it was in there sounds fishy

people usually stick notes in packages to remind you who it is from

and it probably fell out when it was processed in the sorting machine

I always (or most of the time) leave a note to remind the person my address, to send my game/payment and/or to leave feedback. So it's not really that strange.

well if I'm wrong then one of you is fucked. Either your gonna send your part of the deal and get nothing. Or you don't send and he lost a game for nothing tough sitution. Damn mailman came up on a GBA game I guess.

:( this whole situation sucks.

I've recieved 2 other letters that had contained GBA games and all was right.

I will be calling the post office.

how "elaborate" is it to take a game out of its packaging?

Back before the 5 hidden NES games were availible on Animal Crossing, many people sent their memory cards to a guy in Columbus, Ohio to get them put into the game.

Some people sent their GCN cards in normal envelopes with no padding--BIG mistake. It turns out that the sorting machines sometimes will make the envelope go through but not the contents. They just go out of the envelope and are never seen again.

That may have happened to your game... I hope it wasn't a very rare game or anything :/

Good luck to you and the person who sent it.

Oh, really? Sounds a little suspicious... maybe Bob the postal worker got bored one day?

I dont mean to suspect you N4E, but this IS kind of suspicious. Even though it probably wasnt you who is scamming me, it just makes me kind of suspicious......and mad!

It's not THAT big of a deal, it just sucks!!!

And not meaning to say anything against you, but I said that I wanted to send it in a package and you told me to send it in a regular envelope.

So what was the weight of the envelope. Thats tells you whether or not the game was in there.

wow, i would never send a cartridge in an envelope. what about bubblewrap, etc? wouldn't the game be damaged if you sent it in a plain envelope?

the lesson here...always use a box

VGD ships just about everying in a box

Yeah, I've learned that lesson.

Hey N4E, let me know what happens when you call the post office, PLEASE!!

I agree its a tough one, take defenders advice, send in boxes, or at least a thick padded envelope. Im several occasions, when sent noticable mail items such as birthday cards...etc through the mail...i would receive the item with part of the package torn....like to check for money. Luckally in every case, so far none of them have had money in them to be stolen.

I hadn't thought of that angle. I meant that I doubt soeone would send an envelope with a note but no game and put a hole in the side as an excuse.

The machine process of envelopes is true as well. I sent a small part about the size of a 8 peg lego brick through the mail, and had the letter come back with a smashed piece, and a taped hold in the package.

The game was Super Mario World(GBA).

Well for some damn reason the FUCKING PO won't pick up the phone!! I've tried several times.

And yes it was my idea to have hime send via a evelope. Others have done so with no problem. :( I suppose I learned my lesson.

At Long's they have small padded envelopes that hold a game and instructions. I can send a GBA game anywhere in the US for 73 cents (envelope and postage). I use them everytime and they work fine. I'd never use a regular envelope.

Ok, so not to be a little bitch and make light of this situation, but this doesn't warrant "NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP!!". I mean its a shitty situation, sure, but I think serious help is a little much. I mean so you guys are out like 30 bucks. I saw serious help and it was going to be like, "I/My girlfriend is pregnant and there is a wolf biting at my/her swollen uterus right now." Ok, so I guess I am a little bitch. But in retrospect I probably shouldn't have expected that. This isn't exactly the forum for things like that, so never mind.

Anytime ive gotten a package from the usps, and its been "emptied" of its contents or damaged, its been given to me in a sealed bag marked damage and a little sticker checklist as to what the deal is.

Tromack, you seem like a real dick. You trolled in my tradelist topic and now you are doing it here. It's not cool to start a flame war here at CAG. So I suggest you learn the rules before nobody likes you. I know I already dont

And no, it might not be THAT big of a deal, but it still sucks. And N4E wanted to make a topic to ask what he could do. So buzz off and stop being such a jerk!
