6 hours isnt really horrible. But I picked up a import 2200mah battery and now I get about 10.5 hours, they should have shipped with these from day one!

But I have a feeling these might be misrepresented as most places I've seen seem to be selling the old 1800mah batteries for this much, hopefully in anticipation of getting the better ones instock.

I chose store pickup as my shipping option, so I should be able to go get them soon. I'll let you guys know if they are the actual 2200mAh version.

Looks like the 1800, going from the item number (PSP110) and the second picture they show is the 1800. Still a decent deal...

lithium-ion batteries before using them?

Not a bad deal. However, nothing will beat the deal I bragged about in the other forum (2200 & Sony quick charger for $7.99 BC @ GS). I love GS's generic price points.

You might need to charge them pretty frequently. I dont play my psp that much anymore, so when I pick it after two weeks or so of not charging, the battery is dead.

No luck getting the 2200MAh battery at the Fair Lakes, VA store. They go by the model number, not by the picture. I told them to keep 1800MAh one they had pulled for me. I hope others are luckier than I.

For the record, I didn't see any of the 2200MAh ones on the shelf.

The 1800 gives you roughly 6 hours of play time with the screen on it's dimmist setting.

The 2200 gives about 10.5 hours at the same setting. I dont think they've put them into wide rotation just yet atleast not here because the one I have is from europe (atleast it had english and french on the packaging.)

The litium batteries can be kept around for a while but as I understand it you should charge them fully if you dont plan to use it for a while or it will loose it's battery life. This info was in the DS packaging and should apply to most any lithium power supply. (I left my laptop battery uncharged for 3 months and when I tried to charge it again it would only work for like 5 seconds!)

As for where you can buy it in the US, I have no idea. I guess I just got extremely lucky. It comes up to ~$33 in current exchange rates. Combine that with a $35 battery, and damn did I feel good about paying ~$6.75 for both.

The only way I like the stock charger better is that I can play while charging. Otherwise, I take that with me on trips. With the 2200, I swear I get at least 7-8 hours on full brightness playing. It's a great battery. Much better than the stocker.

And they do lose charge when you don't use them, unfortunately.

I just got denied in store. It rang up at $39.99. I told the guy it is $7.99 online and he replied, "Well this is our instore price." I didn't want it bad enough to fight with management for it. This is for the 1800 with the same item number.

Not sure what their policy is, but if you are going to B&M you may want to bring a printout with you.

Edit: Interesting...before I left the website listed it for $7.99, but online it is now listed at $39.99. Deal may be dead.

Alternatively, now that this deal is dead, there is an unofficial 10 dollar battery for sale at Best Buy that uses 3 AAA batteries. If you use high capacity rechargeable AAAs (about 12 bucks?) it might work out to be a decent deal.

Greetings all.

When I purchased mine online, I didn't see anything about 1800. I simply saw the pic for the 2200 mAH and QUICKLY placed my order. Having two PSP's, I picked up two replacement batteries fully expecting Best Buy to cancel my order like they did the $499 laptop I never received 3-4 months ago.

Well, today the batteries arrived. I was pretty psyched to open the box and see that 2200 goodness. So I was a little peeved when I opened the box and saw 2 - 1800 mAH batteries inside. :(

With tax, these each cost me $15. Still a good deal, but I don't have an "external" charger, and I'm a little honked I didn't get what I thought I ordered. I'll probably keep them, but am I the only one who feels this way? I'm sure those who missed out will think I'm being a winer. I just wish I'd gotten what they showed I'd ordered on the page...
