I do alot of gaming, so a nice, not too expensive one that works good for games would be great.

Thanks :D

I saw a 15" Magnavox 4:3 LCD TV , with a VGA input , at Target on clearance for $212.00 . It was only 15% off but they had 3 or 4 at my store .

Not much of a deal on that TARGET one....I saw that also. If it jumps to 50% or more, then maybe...but NOT for gaming.

I picked up a 26" HP LCD for around $750 at JR.com, the thing is GREAT. I use it as a PC monitor and second TV. It has built-in HD, CableCARD (which I'm using), EVERY input possible, Optical Out....very nice for the price.

I agree , but a deal nonetheless .
I'm gonna keep my eye on those .
If it gets cheap enough I'll replace my 17" CRT monitor with it .

for gaming the biggest stat is the response time

from cnet: "A maximum of a 12ms-to-15ms response time across the spectrum is required for gaming or viewing television and movies without ghosting or streaking."

This probably isn't what you're looking for, but there's a combo deal on a dell computer w/19" LCD monitor. The monitor is model # E196FP. Should be a good one. 8 ms response time. The computer is a Dimension 3100, Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz, 1 GB DDR2 ram, 80 gig SATA drive, 16x DVD-ROM. No disc writer. $449. Probably a shipping charge added to that. Good until 5/24. Says it's a call in/catalog order only. I didn't call about it because I just bought a new machine, but it seems to be a pretty good deal to me if you want an LCD monitor with your computer. Doesn't seem to need any kind of coupon code for it.

edit: I just called about this promo. It's for business purchases only. Don't bother unless you can order it through your business. The guy said without a tax ID # it would probably be about $200 more.

You can order thru Dell Small Business without an actual business, I've done it many times before. The Tax ID thing is if you are buying for resale they won't charge you tax.

Does that PC have a PCI -E or AGP slot? Be aware someof the computers sold by Dell only have PCI slots so you can't really upgrade the graphics.

I have that same exact monitor, I got it from a previous deal at Dell. Its pretty good, very good picture and no dead pixels, but its missing DVI. DVi wasn't important to me so I'm pretty happy with it.

It's good company, I never have any problems with them.

No, it appears that some places have outdated info. Here's the actual specs on the TV:

Like Ofacto was saying, if the MB doesn't have a PCI Express slot, it's not worth having unless you intended to do no gaming or anything else graphically intense. AGP would be better than nothing, but I'm not sure companies are still going to make AGP cards much longer. Once the guy told me he couldn't help me out without a tax ID #, I didn't even bother asking about the available expansion slots on the MB. Call up Dell and mention the deal. Maybe someone can help you.
