One of the best titles on the E3 show floor in my opinion. The gyroscopic control is intuitive and works very well. The R1 button lets you roll as you move the controller around as well while R2 accelerates and L2 is air brake. You could choose betwen 3 different weapons in the demo (Lightning charge, Power missle, and swarm lockon missle). The graphics are incredible and runs at a very smooth framerate despite it being incomplete. I played it after I tried the wii and it really blew away anything the wii had to offer.

I take it you're also a big fan of Kirby's Tilt 'N Tumble?

Sounds awesome, I hope other developers use the motion senser as well as it appears to be used in Warhawk.

I sincerely doubt that Warhawk could "blow" away anything the Wii showed, I guess you really just hate Nintendo, or maybe it was just one of those things you had to see to believe.

But besides that, who remembers Warhawk on PS1? That game was friggin awesome.

Perhaps the OP means strictly in graphical terms?

I can see it blowing away the Wii graphically.

As for the original, I loved it. I have been wanting to see a sequel made for years now. I guess almost ten. Wow. I wonder if we'll get badly acted FMV cut-scenes? That was the best part! ;)

I'm referring to the usage of gyroscopic control. And no I don't hate nintendo. I have a fricking DS like and a Gameboy SP and a gamecube. I love smash bros and i'll prob buy the Wii (probably for smash bros). I'm just saying that's how it went down.

I agree, Warhawk was pretty awsome.

I didn't get to try the goddam Wii though... the line was like... 80-100 people long?

Fuck that. I tried to bribe the Nintendo Rep to let me in when it was about to close... he didn't comply.

don't worry, the wii line was definetly NOT worth it. even when you get in you have to wait 30 mins to play any game (well maybe besides SD gundam). Just buy the console in november heh. It's suprising how many people i've encountered that seem to have a negative impression of warhawk who have never tried it tho.

It's doubtful you'll see it anytime soon. Members of the 1up staff were asking other Sony developers what they thought about the motion sensitivity of the PS3 controller and none of them even knew it was being implemented. These are people that have been developing games since they got the devkits and even they didn't know.

Sony made a directive to the Warhawk team that they needed to add the motion sensing capabilites to the game just weeks before E3.

So as well as it controls, there is no denying it was a last minute addition by Sony to try to counteract the Wii. There's also no doubt that I played Motocross Madness the exact same way with the Microsoft Sidewinder Freestyle Pro like 5 years ago.

All that smack talk aside, the graphics in Warhawk are awesome.
