Thats what I didnt get either. Its buy one get one free. I'm shocked, its actually a great deal, but not a FF fan, specially if I have to pay monthly to play. Might be good for trade or ebay, and then you get the game you really wanted for about half.

That's actually a really weird deal... they are giving you Final Fantasy XI, a new hot game, for free, with purchase of an older launch title? It's worth it to Ebay both games on its own, could come out about $20 ahead if you play your cards right.

As for me, since I don't have time to mess with that at the moment, I'll just SiN Episode 1, since its $5 cheaper then Steam (ouch, that hurts Valve, dosen't it), and I'll think about Ghost Recon PC.

$12.95 for one character ($1 to add a character) with stable servers or $15 for as many as you want with the worst servers of any MMORPG that I've played. Also comparing a 5 year old game across 3 platforms with a 1 year old PC only game is lame IMHO.
BTW I no longer play any MMORPG but I still get the itch like when you stop smoking.

Well FFXI is the 3rd or 4th largest MMORPG ATM with around 500k subscribers. I would say the top 10 might still be less then the 6 million sbscribers.

I would imagine that the receipt would look normal with the exception of the Free game having a $0.00 notation next to it and a special promotion notation under it.

I just (mercifully) got through Skameo last night, and all I can say is THANK GOD...it's over. It's only appropriate that the game feature (in the context of the setting) a beautiful girl, because it's gorgeous but as shallow as a kiddie pool. I button-mashed my way through 90% of the time with one 'elemental spirit', and I easily beat the boss (without readings any walkthroughs or posts) with another. Worst final boss fight since Fable.

Damn, Microsoft, you done makin' the massively disappointing first-party/console-exclusive non-racing, non-FPS games yet?

Get PGR3, if you're so inclined to get FFXI, even if it is a regression from the previous edition.

Usually with deals like this *YOU* take the game up with you. Especially since it's chain wide. This isn't a promotional copy like the free Mortal Kombat V, it's essentially a Buy 1, Get 1 with the "Get 1" being SPECIFICALLY FFXI.

From experience, most people working the register would look at you like you're crazy if you asked so just walk up with it.

If it is open and the key is used, NO, you can NOT trade Final Fantasy XI (to other people). It will not work on any other 360. Well, I mean, you CAN trade it to another user (like me), but they won't be able to use it.

No stores will take FFXI for trade, regardless of sealed or unsealed. You could sell it on ebay if it's still sealed, though.

I just want a copy with everything. I don't care if the key's used. I want it just to have the case and disc.. it's a collector's thing.

That is correct my friend. You bascially would have to sell the game on Ebay or here because no game stores actually take these as trade-ins because of them being Internet based and the one time use codes that are provided with them. I learned that when I tried to trade-in my FFXI for PS2.

Looking closely, that PDZ in the ad is actually the Collector's Edition, so it's probably the best deal there.

The girl at the register had to manually put a penny on FFXI to make it work. I think after I picked up Kameo and FFXI, they were starting to take them down from the shelves. So I'm in Target yesterday and they have NSMB with arrows and signs all around it proclaiming "$34.99!!! AS ADVERTISED!!!"

Are they very proud that they're charging MSRP? Do they want their customers to get excited about it? I don't get it. If you don't have the balls to offer a good price, just put the game on the shelf, put a normal price tag under it and shut the fuck up.

I picked up the Intercooler yesterday. I couldn't find a better deal online. Not bad for $20 though.... for the peace of mind its worth it.

I came in to CC this morning as soon as it opened. They were all surpised about this deal. Also, they could not scan Kameo. The girl at the register had to manually put a penny on FFXI to make it work. I think after I picked up Kameo and FFXI, they were starting to take them down from the shelves. You guys better get on this deal quick before they say it is a misprice. One of the employees I spoke to says that the deal might have been to buy a 360 Console and get FFXI for free

I can confirm if you buy one of the three 30 games pictured that FFXI is free. PDZ is just the regular non-LE edition as well. Of course since their covers are so simular I can see how the mistake is made from the ad itself.

Just went to the Cascade, MI store, they were just OOS. They held one for me in Grandville, MI where i bought PGR and FF12. Very low stock, only a few left in Grandville and 3 in stock at Alpine, MI store. They were willing to write a raincheck.

I was expecting a big week for buying this week, but I guess not. really lame deals. When I want to spend, the stores don't give me a chance with any deals or anything i really want, but when I don't want to spend or shouldn't, they give me deals and not enough money.

This was my week after finals and classes were over so I thought I'd get myself something. Oh well.
