I'm sure we've all encountered this question before, but I'm curious to see the responses at a website like this one, where we are all CAG's.

I'll follow a trail...maybe it'll lead to a quarter or even a dollar $.$

The only time when I don't pick up a penny is when it's sitting in a puddle of something. C'mon...it's free money. Think about that.

Of course I'd pick it up. I save all the pennys I get. I have about 5 bucks in pennys, which I would have just thrown at people or lost. Like Gothic_Walrus said, its FREE money. Think very, very hard about it.

It's not free, you have to bend over or something to get it, and that bending over just isn't worth a damned penny. It's too much effort for so little money.

I'd pick up the Jam Pack, but not a penny. That penny couldn't be very clean anyways...

wow it takes you a month to save up $200 worth of coins? It took me about a year to get to that.

He goes around picking up a lot of pennies. Change does add up, my wife knows this...she takes all of it.

If you see a penny on the ground there is a chance that I threw it there. I keep nickels and up, but not pennies.

I might pick up a penny on the ground....if I feel like it.

See a penny, pick it up, all the day you'll have good luck... unless it soaked in urine, sitting in a pile of feces, or glued to the ground, or superheated.

I was never mean enough to heat up coins and throw them on the ground.. people at school used to use bunson burners to heat up coins and then throw it in the hallway... you'd know someone tried to pick it up because you'd hear cursing or yelling in the hallway.

Gluing coins to the ground is just good clean fun, however.

Haha, heating up coins, got to remember that one for later.

No, I hate pennies. I just leave them on tables or whatever if I get any in my change. Sure, they add up, but I dont need money that badly.

Consider that he made this money in the 25 years or so since Microsoft was founded in 1975. If you presume that he has worked 14 hours a day on every business day of the year since then, that means he's been making money at a staggering million dollars per hour, around $300 per second.

Which means that if, on his way into the office, should he see or drop a $1000 bill on the ground, it's just not worth his time to bend over and pick it up. He would make more just heading off to work.

Whom is this article about?

well we have pennies all around school and i've never picked one up myself. when we play poker there's always one person that buys off all the pennies and just throws them on the floor. The last time there was at least a dollars worth, but noone even bothered thinking of picking them up.
