View Full Version : Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix makes its return
OK, remember WAY back when people were speculating as to whether Mario DDR was discontinued and Nintendo said it wasn't and more would be on the way? Well, looks like that day has finally come.
The latest EB/GS flier (which also has the surprise DS title "Wario the Thief" in it), shows Mario DDR. Also, my Fred Meyer (grocery/general store chain in Pacific NW) weekly ad shows Mario DDR as a "new release" with a Tuesday street date along with New Super Mario Brothers for DS.
So it looks like Nintendo spoke the truth - I believe they told people on the phone who ordered a copy with them that it would be back in stores in May.
Now, the question is, where can we obtain it for less than $50 now that it is back? :D.

Now THIS one I searched for in the GAMECUBE section only, and it ain't there. SO I stick by my post :D. It's not a game deal or a bragging right until its found on sale.
Edit - DAMN Scorch, I don't know how you find the time for this. Both of those threads are buried as well. When I try to search I get neither. Guess I don't know the intricacies of CAG search like you do. And, no, I don't care to know that much about CAG search, thank you very much :D.

Fair enough, i'm just busting your balls.. glad you don't get pissed like most others.
Have you actually played this? I got a Gamecube for free tonight (god bless weddings where both parties have a Gamecube and want to get rid of one), so I'm now looking at this.. $50's a lot, but it might be worth it if it comes with the pad.

I have not played it. I preordered it at GR last Fall and planned to give it to my daughter for Christmas (and of course play it with her). But while it sat there, not being used, the whole "OH MY GOD IT IS DISCONTINUED WHJWHWHATATA!!!!" phenomenon hit, and I sold it for $110 on eBay. Don't worry, my daughter got plenty to make up for it, including her own DS with Animal Crossing :D.
But I do want to get it eventually and I (unlike many ebay buyers) knew it would be back. But I don't want to drop $50 on it either. I have a feeling, though, that it will never get much cheaper. It does come with a pad of course. The best I can do is use my already existing EB credit to buy it, so it's not $50 cash - though I was saving that credit for DS releases. Or I could wait for a 10% or 20% off game coupon from Fred Meyer, but I have a feeling they will exclude this because it is an "accessory".
Edit - Hey, even if this is a repost, it's good to get the Gamecube section of CAG some action. That Super Paper Mario announcement at E3 was not enough to keep this formerly dead zone revived for long :D.

I paid $40 for a used copy not too long ago, and I feel like I have gotten my money's worth so far... I fire it up whenever I have the energy to jump on arrows, heh.
I hope more people get to enjoy this game.

My reaction exactly, which is why I posted it on the DS thread after I saw it in the GS/EB flier today. But I got SCORCHED so you'll have to go dig up the small thread about it yourself on the DS forum - it's back a ways. My thread is no longer there.
There really isn't much info on it - it wasn't at E3 and there's not much on the web about it. Looks to be a Wario platformer for DS. The lack of info is why the thread died several days ago. But there is cover art at least - the GS flier has a picture (it is the flier with Cars on the front).

Mario DDR is a pretty easy DDR game, but getting to dance to some mixes of classic Mario music makes up for it. I haven't played it a lot, but when some friends were over, we had a good time of it.
OK, so these are pretty much in every store I go into now - except Gamerush, of course, where I could buy it cheaply using credit. So, the question is, when will there be a deal or price drop on this game? I'm waiting for $30 or less. I know no one here has any idea, but we should keep an eye out. I wonder if they will ever reach clearance status at places like Target (also keeping an eye on Guitar Hero which they seem to have in larger quantities than Mario DDR).
