I'm in the market for an HDTV. If anybody (employee or otherwise) knows when BB will have a weekly 10% off special on televisions, I'd be most grateful.
ATM, there is an online only deal for a free $400 popcorn maker with the purchase of a $999 or higher TV, but I don't really need that thing, and I don't think I'd want to go to the trouble of selling it.
At the very least, perhaps there is a X% off offer for signing up and making your first purchase with a Best Buy credit card?
Thanks for your help.

Myke,
There is a little booklet maybe 5"-6" x 5"-6" and it has games, keyboard, and 10% off HDTV coupons in it.
I am not sure of the exclusions but I could look for you in a bit on my lunch (one is in my car). If you can find the coupon booklet I can mail this one to you if its what you need.

Snake, if you have a 10% coupon that isn't expired, I'll totally send you a game in return for it. PM me if you can find it.

If he is talking about the coupon book given out at the relaunch of the Xbox 360, then the coupons expired today.

Myke, what TV are you thinking of picking up? I work in the HT department at BB and while it depends on the TV we are allowed to take 10% off to close the sale if needed, so you probably don't even need to worry about having a coupon. Its best to go in on a slower weekday like tuesday. If the department might not hit their revenue mark for the day, they will definately give you the discount w/o the coupon.

That's some good advice.
Not to hijack the thread, but I'm looking into an HDTV also, but there's so many models/brands/options. I have no idea where to start. Any good website/guides for this sort of thing? I'm looking for a midrange +/- $1600 TV that my 360 will look good on. PC inputs are a plus, since i have a pretty high-end rig.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of going in tomorrow afternoon actually, so that's incredibly helpful. I'm not too salesman savvy, so I'd be the kind of person who would just say "give me 10% off or I'm not gonna buy it." What techniques would you reccomend?
FWIW, I am more or less debating between a 26" Phillips or Samsung.

Lastly, I'm heavily considering buying the extended protection plan or whatever it's called. Do you recommend getting it? If you're willing to be up front about what you said earlier, I trust your judgment on it.

Go with the samsung Myke, the contrast ratio on it is 3000:1 which is much better than the Phillips. The PSP plan honestly is a mixed bag. It covers you for anything besides physical damage, including just one dead pixel. I personally have the 32" samsung ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7675697&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat31800050024&id=1134702498462 ) with the service, because Ive seen people get screwed over many times by not having it. Its really more for your piece of mind than anything though because so far we have not had one person come back with one of the new Samsungs because of a defect. Samsung LCDs are amazing and that is definately what I would recommend you pick up.

For $2,500 or $3,500 you can get a sweet 42" or 50" HD Panasonic plasma... I LOVE mine... :D
EDIT: and with the 10% off coupon and 24 months no interest financing (like I did when I bought mine) you will barely feel the pain of dropping that much money on something even though it is totally necessary and you will get hours and hours and hours of love in return from it...

Why don't you just look at the TV's at Costco? With Costco's EXCELLENT Return Policy, you will be able to return the TV if anything is wrong with it without having to purchase an extended Warrenty. Also the prices of the TV's there will be just about the price of a Best Buys TV with the 10% off.
Sceptre 37" LCD HDTV
Supports 1080p
Resolution: 1920x1080
Brightness: 600 cd/m²
Contrast Ratio: 1000:1
Response Time: 8ms

Thanks for the advice. I may pick up a PSP. I tried to haggle the guy to give me 10% off of this tv (the one I've decided to buy after seeing the three in-store): http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7674144&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat31800050028&id=1134702136945
He let me walk out of the store without buying anything, however, since he said "the lowest price it's been is 1138" (or something close to 5% off). I told him I'd be back when they have another 10% off sale, and he let me walk. Oh well.
Thanks for the offer on the 10% off code for CC djak1, but they're out of stock for right now, and I can't do in-store pickup, so it kinda kills the deal. If that changes, I'll certainly PM you.

Myke,
I didnt see you replied to me. I will check the coupon I have as it came out after the 360's launched. I will reply on Tuesday with an answer since the coupon is at home.

Oh, I thought I sent you a PM. My mistake. I successfully haggled the salesperson into a discount on the Sharp Aquos 26" flat-panel. It was $1090 or so, out of pocket (with 4-year PRP), after discounts and some ol' giftcards I had.
Now the next problem. The whores at DirecTV want me to shell out $500 for an HDTV receiver with TiVo, and the lowest they would go with me is $250. I ain't putting down that kind of money to *LEASE* equipment. They can fucking eat me.
