I have 2 pcs, My 360 and original XBX connected on a router and all work fine online, but I cant get them to communicate with each other. I want to do that media sharing with my 360 (when I get it back) and also some file sharing for my pcs. I look on the network and the other pcs dont show up. The both have file sharing active but I cant seem to access anything.

Are your PC's running software firewalls? That could cause them not to be seen on the network.

how do i turn them off? is it just that "windows" built in firewall? I can shut those down if needed. im wondering if my router would block acess to other pcs and devices on my network but i dont see why it would.

Go to network connections under the control panel. Right click your LAN connection and select "properties" then "advanced." There you can see if the windows firewall is active.

Your router normally won't filter systems on the LAN, it just firewall's off the WAN side (to/from your DSL or Cable modem), so that shouldn't be the issue.

Do they all have the same 'network name'?
Windows firewall can block intra-lan communication; we had to tell Windows Firewall to let us play HoMMIII the other night.

I would make sure that they are all on the same workgroup so that way you can see the other computers.
