He's pretty much a dumb ass. "He abruptly walked away from a plea deal with prosecutors", not smart.

The dude who won a mill on Survivor and assumed prize winnings are not taxed. (Actually he claims he thought CBS was picking up the tax bill. )

When I first saw the topic title I was mad because I thought Tom Zarek wasn't going to be on Battlestar Galactica for the next 4 years.

So that's what Probst meant when he told this year's winner to "make sure you pay your taxes". I thought the winner had tax problems, but now I know.

I can't imagine in a meeting when they were going over the fine details of the money, somewhere it said they were not responsible for any taxes.

his story was that he ratted on other contestants to the crew about them having snuck in food, and in exchange for his ratting he said they promised if he won to pay the taxes, at least thats what he said.

Obviously, the judge didn't buy his story that CBS told him they had him covered.

I can't imagine in a meeting when they were going over the fine details of the money, somewhere it said they were not responsible for any taxes.

I doubt you'd really have to explicitly state that, but also wouldn't be surprised if CBS's lawyers stuck something in on that anyway. It'd be a thing where you should expect you owe the taxes unless they explicitly tell you they ARE paying them for you. The only certainties in life are death and taxes after all.

The only season I ever watched of survivor is season 1. But who gives a shit if this person doesn't pay taxes.
