i used to get them at costco in bulk, (they were 25 cents each and you buy them in packs of 40) but they only have one brand, the regular trojain generic kind, no ribbed, no other brands or anything, so i end up getting the more expensive ones at a drug store(usually longs drug store) or a regular supermarket(ralphs, vons etc)

Does walmart or any other discount store have any decent deals? anyplace over the web that would be cheaper?

hey i can voulch for that.....3 years ago when I was with my gf, they gave her and me free multi colored condoms... we were like LOL, which color should we use today would be the question just before we did it. she claimed it felt better than normal store bought condoms. I've always found Durex [formerly Shiek] at Target to be the cheapest and best. Something like 3-4 bucks a dozen. Of course, if you can get them free on campus that's cheapest, or cheaper online, but this is the cheapest B&M I've found.
I would also second either getting a standalone spermicide or the ones with nonoxynol-9 [although some people have reactions to it].

We have tried a few 'multipacks' from Adam and Eve, but the like/notlike ratio was not worth the time and money.

I am married, have been for almost 11 years. My wife went off the pill a while ago, it was having reactions with her other medicines, and these things definitely make cleanup easier.

Great advice--the getting checked out every year. Wish they would recommend that during freshmen orientation, it would probably help out a great number of young, inexperienced, misinformed people. Definitely get checked out yearly--where's the harm? The sooner after unprotected sex is the better. If an accident does occur, you can usually get treated with large doses of anti-virals which can help prevent the STD. Doesn't always work, shouldn't be relied on, but if what's done is done, go ASAP--72 hours is usually that too late to be effective point. Nearly every campus has a health center, which can be free to students (with the exception of prescriptions) but if you don't want parents asking questions about charges to credit cards or health insurance billings, free clinics are not that scary. It's anonymous, free testing, free medication, free condoms, and since your only means of identification to them is a color (Blue, Violet, Green, etc) your insurance company will never have to know (some insurance co. can be tricky especially where AIDS tests are concerned so the clinic is the best bet to avoid that).

And as for "pulling out" which for some reason is enjoying quite the rally on this threat, it does NOT prevent pregnancy. The whole time there is fluid leaking out that contains sperm. Unless you are medically sterile, this will never work. And obviously if you're not protected you're susceptible to whatever STD she may have as well. What do you mean by "sticking"? Best way to get in easily is to be easy putting it in. Just ramming in is gonna hurt anyone (gender doesn't matter there).
