It's not a ready made HDD but a do it yourselfer. You get the enclosure and HDD-- all you do is remove some screws on the encolsure and plug two things from the enclosure to the HDD, and screw the enclosure back shut. Then plug it in to your computer via a USB2.0 cable (included) and Win XP should recognize it.
It's cake! If you're worried about quality or durability, the HDD is an OEM with 3 years warrenty and the external enclosure comes with a 1 year warrenty. Seagate is a known HDD brand and is quite reliable, IMO. I've used Ultra products before and it's not the best but for the price, they can't be beaten.
