After searching the web for info on how the fix the damn thing, I found the little vdo file that can fix dead pix. but I don't think it work for me. So my question should I bring back my PSP and get my money back? Do you think Costco is cool with this or I'm stuck with this PSP :( '
PS. if Costco don't want to give me a new PSP should I put some water on the UMD drive lol

If you have to ask what to do, you are dumb. Exchange it for another one. :P
um costco has one of the most liberal return policy of any store...

yeah but the dead pixel only show up when the screen is black. So it might be hard to point it out to Costco.
I bought DS when it first come out in the US and sold it on Ebay. After hearing all the good game come out for the DS ( FF3 ) I think I'll buy the new DS light and keep it for sure this time.

you wont even need to prove it to them so long as you have the receipt and it's w/in return period.

Most places have a 30-day return period, and I doubt that Costco is any different. My PSP that I bought from BB had a dead pixel in the first week; I took it back, and exchanged it with no problems. They never even turned it on to check. Just call the damn store and ask!

You should be able to exchange it...while you are there exchanging it you might want to open up the new one while you are there to make sure it has no dead pixels.

Yeah, mine has like 8 dead pixels that only show when the screen is black, and then when games play it looks perfect. Unless your dead pixels are clustered, stop being a little bitch. Unless you play the "Sony of America Loading Screen" game, relax.

I think I should just return it. Oh and what about the newest version of PSP, many people seem to think that the dead pixcel is gone. I might get the 199 version.

Just return to CostCo....people take back TV's that are TWO YEAR'S OLD there....they are very liberal from what I hear.
Just try again

Take it back! Dead/stuck pixels really suck. Especially because there will eventually be a game you buy that DOES have the right (wrong?) background which will cause you to see them. They just stick out. Capcom Classic Collection comes to mind-- playing Strider with dead pixels all over? That'd suck!
I got a PSP that had 2 clumps of stuck-white pixels and a scattering of single stuck pixels all over. I returned it to BB and got one that is pristine (although there was a light scratch on the screen that once I put a Hori protector on, it went away) and it's really worth it. [they DID turn it on and mess with it for 5 minutes while I waited before they accepted the return, but no one told me what they were doing]
I seriously doubt the dead pixel situation is 'fixed' with the cores. Dead pixels are a fact of life with LCDs, until a company steps up and says "We will not accept dead pixels". (Which Sony has NEVER said, look in your PSP manual!) Most likely, Sharp or Samsung (or whoever is providing the LCD panels) has improved their manufacturing process, so you probably have a better chance of a perfect screen with EITHER Core or Value. The cores might be better just as you're getting a more recently built machine (since it went in a newer box, and isn't older stock that's been sitting around for a while) but there's no guarantee you'll get a perfect screen with a core. Buy the version of the PSP that fits your needs.

Exchange it. Having 8 is ridiculous.

Take it back. If the pixels are white, blue or green, they are STUCK pixels. Dead pixels are black as in it wont light up.
The video file is like a refreshing thing that helps STUCK pixels. This is the same procedure used on LCD monitors.
Even so, Sony offers a warranty on the dead pixels but it'll cost you money to send and you'll be without a PSP
I hope you were kidding on the water in the UMD drive. If you werent, you must be stupid to do something like that. How would that fix the dead pixels?

I think the Costco return policy is 6 months and its a no hassle 100% satisfaction guranteedreturn policy, so take that sucker back (but don't intentionally damage it). They will even take it back without a receipt as long as you are Costco Member.

I bought a PSP from someone, and I thought it had no dead or stuck pixels. When I saw the screen black, I notced that I had 3 dead pixels. But they think is, they are not close to each other and they appear to be close to the edges. The only time I notice them, is when the screen is black. Otherwise, my PSP is just fine and I love that thing.
I have Capcom Classics Collection Remixed, and never noticed them.
