PCI-Express is a completely different slot than AGP or PCI. In fact PCI-E is currently the new-gen slot for GFX cards, as AGP is supposedly on its "last leg".

If you do get a PCI-E mobo, I've heard this card performs great with Oblivion:

Slight outside your range but evidently worth it.

Do you have a PCI-E slot? Because you might not if you've had a GeForce 5 card... that was before PCI-E I believe.

I'd recommend going with a ATI X850 GTO but they don't make too many AGP cards using the newer chipsets (X1000 series, GeForce 7 series) in the 100-200price range.

make sure its the gto2. Since thats the one that is already unlocked and can overclock like a mad muther. Also, its the x800gto not x850

Theres some agp cards that will run oblivian. Upgrading the MotherBoard and probably proccesor would be a little expensive.XFG or BFG's Overclocked 7800 GS cards. Get one of those from either of those companies and you should be fine.

They've been know to go for $200 on ebay. It took me a while of watching and bidding but that what I spent on mine and it was worth it.

I recently upgraded my AGP 9800 Pro to an AGP X1600 Pro 512MB from Sapphire (see link). Oblivion runs almost perfect on it on high settings and it looks great. It was a huge improvement for a lot of my other games too (GRAW, HL2, Far Cry). I reviewed it - second most recent on newegg. Plus it has all the newer feature (HDR, SM3.0, Avivo, etc.) The 256MB one's a little cheaper. Not sure if there's a big difference.

I wouldn't buy another video card until DirectX 10 native hardware comes out.

I have an NVidia 6800XT for AGP. Asus makes it.
I've been very happy with it, and it was very cheap.
I also had good luck unlocking extra pixel pipes and shaders on it.

Any rough estimates on when that is gonna happen, I was think of upgrading soon anyway.
