32 MB-absolutely nothing, worthless, I only still have it in case I need to use my Best Buy warranty and return my psp.

1 GB-I have it because it was the biggest size they made last year, I use it for nes. game boy, snes, genesis, neo geo emulators and roms

2 GB-just bought it from frys cuz it was only $50, havent opened it yet, probably use it for movies.

512mb, because I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a memory stick, so far I've only used it for saving games, and playing the Loco Roco demo, I probably could have gotten away with just the 32mb one.

1gb; I use it for music, limited video, and saves. Buy a 2gb, they are getting cheaper every day.

I have 2 mem sticks (32mb and 2gb).

I got the 32mb one with the system. Not bad for game saves, but that's about all it has going for it.

Bought the 2gb one the same day as my system. Great for mp3 and video playback, as well as saves.

32 MB memory stick. Does anyone have a link to the site where I can download an emulator. What games are you guys able to play on it? I just got a psp so I'm new to all this downloadable content.

I have a 64MB. I bought the PSP game shark thing for $7 used and it came with a 64 mb card. I then turned around and sold my 32mb that came with the system for $8 on ebay. 64mb is still pretty small and probably only enough for game saves. I plan on getting a 4GB stick when they get down around $50-60 next year sometime. 4GB is the max size the PSP can read so why not go all the way and have plenty of room for Playstation One games, music, movies, saves, trailers, wallpapers, ect?

I just have a 512MB one. I'm using ~25% of it. I use it for game saves and some music. I might get a 64MB or 128MB one, and use that one for game saves only, while my 512MB can be used for music.

32MB

for my game saves.

I started with the included 32MB one and had game saves and a rotation of videos, once including the PSP episode of South Park. I then got a 128MB one for $5 from CC a few months back and today a $15 AR 1gig one from Office Depot. I've currently got 2.0 firmware that can be downgraded back to 1.5....or further upgraded so I can play that Capcom Classics Collection Remix I bought from Best Buy with the coupon.

In essence, I just bought the higher-capacity cards just because they were cheap. I don't suppose you could have a backlog of storage media, could you? Err...actually, come to think of it, I do have a stockpile of Taiyo-Yuden CD-R's that I refuse to use for anything non-archival, as well as over a hundred slim CD jewel cases. ...And a case of clear blue Dreamcast controllers, for that matter...

...Anyway...

I spent the afternoon and evening looking through homebrew, but frankly can't find anything worth bothering with. And nor can I justify upgrading the firmware if I can actually bring myself to just sell off this useless piece of crap (being that v1.5 are "worth more").

In the end I just converted several unviewed interviews and video podcasts from E3 and loaded them onto the stick. Incidentally, the file sizes actually went up! But I don't utilize public transportation nor sit around for long enough periods of time away from an actual computer that I have any opportunity to really watch videos regularly.

The best use I can think of is to use it as a portable digital portfolio for when I start hitting the job-hunting circuit.

2GB Sandisk Ultra II as well.

So far, the memory stick only has three game saves (~1MB). However, with a vacation coming up Memorial day weekend, I think I'll put a movie or two on it.

I've held out for quite a while. Until last Friday I just had the 32MB unit that came with my launch PSP. But the 2GB Sandisk stick for just $50 AR at Fry's finally broke down my resistance. Now I can start experimenting but I'm inclined to have the latest firmware features and don't care all that much about the emulator options.

I suspect Sony has a lot of plans similar to XBLA for use on the PSP. So you can have a big collection of old classic games on a stick without legal issues. For now I'd be happy if more UMDs like the Capcom collection came out.

I am talking about when the PSone games will be available from Sony later this year for download. I also upgraded to the 1GB Lexar stick yesterday when I snagged the last one at my Office Depot that will be $15 after I get my rebate. It was too good for me to resist. I will still buy a 4GB stick when they drop in price but this 1GB stick will help keep me happy until then.

512MB - Bought it a couple days after launch, has Movies and 1.5 Firmware progs.
2GB - Bought it at Fry's on the cheap, also has Movies and 1.5Firmware stuff.

Question. In terms of space will 300 or less easily do it for me in terms of space for game saving?

I've got two 32MB sticks that I got from Sony at E3. I'm looking to get a PSP in the near future, so those will come in handy as game save sticks. I'll probably get a larger stick for music and possibly video sometime after depending on my budget.

Yep, I've only got a 32 mb, I've got about 20 - 22 games saved on it, and I don't even have the card halfway full.

Yeah, they should be plenty big. some games do have D/L content, so remember that also....

even if it is full, you can always copy the save to a computer. I dont think anyone will carry enough games around that needs a whole 32mb.

On my gig stick I have:

3 episodes of Arrested Development
3 episodes of Home Movies
around 15 jpgs
6 complete albums (wma)
saves for 5 different games
loco roco demo
and I still have 60mb free.

512MB, after netflix screwed me I decided I would use my PSP to stick it to the man by downloading movies.

But whenever I go to watch a movie I end up playing a game instead...

That's as it should be considering most are PS ports and if they seem to take up a LOT of data I would argue laziness in compression on the developers part. I term it PC Syndrome. ;-)
Funny enough both Princess Crown and Devil Summoner take up a little over half a meg. :-(
How much do the Mega's and Capcom Remixed take Roufuss? Btw Roufuss Reloaded is $30 from what I've seen listed for EB's coming soon.

Is $40 a good price for a new 1GB Sony Pro Duo Mem Stick?

I'd suggest just buying an Ultra II or even a regular Sandisk Pro Duo since they have a longer warranty and will last longer in general.

I have 1, 32MB and 3, 128 MB memory sticks. The 32MB came with the system and the 128 MB sticks were free at Toys R Us back in December ($1.98 on clearance and then they were $5.00 off bringing the total to $0.00 each)

1-32MB - don't use it anymore really
2-128MB - really I use these for my Cybershot T-5
1-512MB - I use this for my gamesaves. Even with my LCS soundtrack, I still have 400MB left
1-1GB - just bought this. Now I need a DVD drive so I can rip movies and watch them.

How do you download video podscasts into your PSP?

I have a 1GB stick.

I have the full movie Empire Strikes Back.
Space Madness from Ren And Stimpy
First Episode of Invader Zim
A Episode of Samurai Jack
Clip from Chappelle with the Puppets.

I also have a bunch of jpegs, Loco Roco demo and game saves.

And I still have about 300MB left over.

I used to have a NES emulator and ISOs but I decided to upgrade which I think has been well worth it.

How do you download video podscasts into your PSP?

One of the few upgrades in the 2.71 firmware makes this easier on the download front but that assumes an already compatible file. It is far easier just to have your PC do it and copy it over as needed, converting those files that need it to MPEG-4 in the supported resolution.

PSP Video 9 will let you do batch conversions where you connect your PSP via USB and let PSPV9 do its thing overnight. In the morning you'll have a bunch of 'casts on your PSP to watch at appropriate moments.

There are numerous apps you can get that will use RSS to automatically download new podcasts as they become available. A lot of the media managers do this too, such as iTunes.
