View Full Version : Getting a PSP in June and need some game suggestions

I'll be getting a PSP soon and wanted to know what are some must get titles. I know I'll be getting Tales of Eternia (EU version) for sure. I'm into action/adventure and RPGs mainly.
I'm not sure if it's been announced yet, but a DMC game for the PSP will be nice :)
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Is the PSP version of Y's: AoN the same as the PS2 version? And how bad are the loading times?

Never played PS2 version. Psp edition has some extras like a media player, where you can view the FMV cutscenes and listen to the soundtrack; a log of all the heroes and villains you meet; and a handful of minigames. The loading times don't last more than 5 secs. when you're first starting out. However, they get a bit longer when you get into the latter part of the game. I didn't mind it too much when I got used to it, though.

Hot Shots Golf is a great golf game and you can easily just jump in and play a few games and then stop.
Virtua Tennis from what I played is worth the $20 or less and I could see it being a great multiplayer game with friends.
MLB 06' The Show, if you like baseball, check this out. Plays like a PS2 game, feels like it too and it has online multiplayer and everything.
Lumines, you can find this pretty cheap now. I'm not much of a fan for puzzle games, but wow, this game blew me away and is very addicting.
the ender - how is Kingdom of Paradise? I'm looking for an RPG for my PSP.

Alastor - Yea, I've played ToE, and it is an awesome RPG! I totally recommend it; it's worth every penny. I am not sure how close it is to the PSX version, since I never played that version, but I hear that they are almost identical.

I think it can be found for around $20 used now, and I'd recommend it highly!

ToE is same as the PSOne version. KoP is a very good game, get it if you can find it around $20.

I'd suggest DJ Max Portable as a must and I would definitely suggest Princess Crown for you.
Sorry about DJ Max Portable but I'm fucking LOVING it!

There are so many games I want to get and so little cash :( Oh well :)
Technique: I love Hot Shots Golf so I'll probably get Open Tee if I can find it cheap.
62t: thanks for confirming the ToE thing. Can't wait till I get my copy. BTW, did you guys get your EU copy of Tales of Eternia from ebay or is there a better place to order that from?
