Since this is another vague Circuit City sale, I figured it would be a good idea to make a list of the prices that everybody is finding. I checked a few games and this is what I came up with so far. It looks as though most $19.99 games are just ringing up as $14.99 and the $9.99 games are $4.99. It's a small list because I forgot what games I checked, but I'll probably remember some more and add them later. I included the games that were in the ad as well.

Call me crazy, but I like these vague sales at CC. This way the games do not sell out in minutes like at Best Buy when they actually changed the price tags. Only those in the know get to take advantage of these great deals.
Anyway, I believe someone said in the other thread that SSX3 is 14.99 so you can probably add that.

I picked up:
Zelda: Oracle of the Seasons (GBC) - $15
Wipeout Fusion (PS2) - $5
I also saw (all PS2):
Whirl Tour - $5
Ford Racing 2 - $5
Evergrace - $5
The ones I got were marked $5 above what I paid so I assume that the ones I saw are those prices (they were all marked $10). The Jampacks were marked $5 and rang up $5.
Edit: And ET for the GBC was $5.

The vague part is that all games are $5-$20 off. This list is to help people know what games are ringing up as. Circuit City isn't exactly the greatest at marking their games correctly, so this could be helpful. I know I'm going to go back and grab a couple of the $5 games that I didn't know were that price when I was there earlier.

You're telling me. If it's not lazy coworkers it's the antiques we use for price-tag guns. I try to make sure most of the tags at my store are up to date, at least in the game dept. The other people can worry about dvd/pc markdowns (although I've been known to swing by and get those too). There were a veritable SHITLOAD of cheap PC games though, and most CC's should have a sale tag out for pretty much EVERY PC game in the store, I know we did...
EDIT: I checked several random titles throughout the day and it seems to me that every game is $5 off except those that are specified in the ad as being discounted more than that (LoTR, Fight Night, Halo, etc.). I'm pretty sure that Full Spectrum Warrior and the other games that had a gift card offered are also $5 off as well, making them $45 with a $10 gift card, which is a great deal. I'll check tomorrow to confirm it, unless someone can do so sooner...

Since CC takes competitor coupons, Theif 3 would be only $20 after the Target $15 coupon! (Scans at 34.99 - 15). Since some might doubt it would work since the game is on sale, I believe it would because the special price is what it scans at, and most employees would not know its already been discounted. I already own Thief 3, but anyone interested should try this! The game is very worth it IMO

Yes, CC most certainly takes competitor coupons. When the Xbox controllers were on sale for 19.99 I asked if they took other company coupons and they said "Sure!" so I whipped out the $5 BB GGC and walked out with a $15 controller. Whoo hoo!

$14.99 GBA games:
Donkey Kong Country
Advance Wars 2
Golden Sun 2
$24.99 Xbox game:
Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
$29.99 GBA game:

shipwreck, you should put "NES Series" in the GBA games you already have so people don't get confused with existing titles in the same franchises.

X-Box Halo $20
PC Halo $10
X-Box Midnight Club 2 $15
X-Box SSX 3 $15
X-Box Tony Hawk 3 (I know, not a big deal, but I wanted it...)

I'd play Halo on Xbox first to do the single player campaign and then move on to the PC version for multiplayer afterwards.

Does anyone know what Eternal Darkness is going for at CC? mine had about 10 in a bin all marked 19.99, I assume they will ring up 14.99, which is more then I want to pay for that game, but if it's 9.99 that's a different story. So does anyone know the cost?

Trustcompany asked for a link, and I ask as well, please post it. I've searched the site myself a couple times and haven't found it. My local CC does not accept competitors coupons (per the store manager), and they looked at me like a crazy person for suggesting such. If the policy is detailed online, that would certainly help my cause.
Cool. I'll be doing this tomorrow. I actually printed a page off of CC's website detailing this policy (in case I get any friction from the clerk).
Yes, CC most certainly takes competitor coupons. When the Xbox controllers were on sale for 19.99 I asked if they took other company coupons and they said "Sure!" so I whipped out the $5 BB GGC and walked out with a $15 controller. Whoo hoo!

I used a GGC at my local CC a couple of months ago with no problems. They actually gave me 110% of the difference so I saved $5.50 off whatever I purchased... forget what it was. I suppose it depends on the management whether or not they will honor the coupon. I'd be interested in seeing this policy in writing myself.

Yeah, same here. I've asked a couple of times of different people at a store in NYC, no dice.

hmm.. danm,... maybe I am out of luck - the page I was referring to is just the *pricematch* page - it doesn't actually talk about competitor coupons:
http://www.circuitcity.com/cs_contentdisplay.jsp?c=1&b=g&u=c&inleftcat=Help+% 26+Services&incat=11061
I was hoping I could use the page to argue for taking competitor coupons. We'll see I guess.
I am sorry for giving the impression that I had discovered a page on CC's website that isn't there.

did i get scammed?
she also said something about it not being released until tommorrow, then why did they put it out then?

Hope that's true. Maybe the recent BB $5 game sale spoiled me a little bit, but CC's pricing on some of the games is driving me nuts. You have the "newer", good games like SSX 3 and Metal Arms at $15. Then most of the older, not so good titles at....$15. Anyway, my lunch visit didn't find anything that I was too excited about. Did notice that Turok and Robotech Battlecry were marked at $9.99 so they are most likely $4.99 games for the Xbox (didn't have them price-checked though). Turok and RB are very cheap everywhere else though too.

How did people first find out about this 5 dollar thing?
I purchased Enter the Matrix(GCN) for 14.99 , but I just assumed that was part of the 20 - 30% off clearance they have been doing.
So has that been replaced with the 5 dollar thing? Plus with Circuit City their prices have always matched their website. Now a couple of prices that people have posted have not. So is the 5 dollar thing instore only?
I hate CC because their games are never marked and I never know how much anything is.
I love CC because since they don't mark their prices it's like my own private sale that no one else knows about

Wow how did I miss that?
I'll definitely be back in there.
Okay, just got back from CC. From what I noticed, most of the older $50 marked games were going for $35. Most of the older $40 games were going for $35, and most of the older $30 games were going for $25. Pretty much every $20 game was going for $15, including greatest hits and the new GBA Classics.
However, the guy there said he couldn't give out the free shirts until tomorrow, since that's what the ad stated, so I had to flirt a little with the other guy to get it. Also, since I was on a roll, I got him to give me the Shenume II game that was on reserve for somebody else. Pretty good day, and Freedom Fighters for GC was $15.

I took way advantage of this deal.
I bought 6 $5 games and took them up to GameStop for trade-in. Since they have the add $10 per 3 trade-ins, I got a total of around $48 credit. They also had the buy 2 used games get one free promotion going on.
Therefore, I picked up Prince of Persia (XBX), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (XBX) and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (XBX). He rang it up and he gave me .38 back in credit. All in all, I paid $30 for those 3 games...$10 each...woot! :D

I got Four Swords for $44.99 with a $10 gift card.
I tried to get the guy at customer service to take my GGC.
Me: Does CC by any chance match competiors coupons?
Him: You mean if Best Buy has somthing for a better price...
Me: No... does CC match competitors coupons?
Him: Oh, No.
All you guys who can use GGC at CC are lucky... :(

Grabbed SSX 3 for $15 and one that may not have been mentioned before, Metal Arms also for $15. Finished up with Halo PC for $10.
CC has really great sales. Good for us that they don't update their prices so the common consumer doesn't beat us to it.
Can we get a Disgaea check?
$49.99. Not even $5 off.
Metropolismania was $10 at my CC as well.
I got Shenmue (last one) and Alter Echo (they had a good dozen copies) for Xbox.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, FF Origins is $15

They were actually changing the price tags? Circuit City's price marking practices leave a lot to be desired. If they did actually change the tags, it's going to be humorous after this sale ends. Every game will be ringing up for more than the tagged price if that is the case. Talk about a nightmare for the CC employees.

Yeah, one of the Zelda: Four Swords was marked $44.99 when I picked up my copy. Looks like CC is gonna get assraped by the "price as marked" law in the near future.

I picked up Thief for XBOX for $21.19 after tax, thanks to the target coupon. The manager at first didn't think they accepted competitor's coupons but I told him I use them all the time at CC and he made a call and was told to take it. So I walked out with Thief for 21.19, awesome.

Dang I wish I'd gonnt a chance to check the thread before I went today. I'da grabbed a copy of Wild arms 3 for ya, They still have a few at the Yonkers CC. Unfortunatly its rare that I can get a ride up there.
Today I grabbed:
Freedom Fighters (PS2)
Stickered for 49.99 (LOL)
Scanned for 14.99
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 GH (PS2)
Stickered for 19.99
Scanned for 14.99
Robotech (GC)
Stickered for 14.99
Scanned for 9.99
MGS: Twin Snakes (GC)
Stickered for 39.99
scanned for 34.99 (not great but with the 5 bucks off I figured I might as well quit stalling and get it.)
Weird thing was I'm still seeing multiple prices for SSX3, stickers from 14.99 to full price between GC and PS2. Also Bomberman jetters which is litterally a 20 dollar game EVERYWHERE scanned for the ridiculous price of 45.99.... WTF??!

OK, I've turned into the biggest loser ever. I spend my lunches scanning the game racks at CC. Today my biggest find was:
The Invincible Iron Man (GBA) $2.96
Also scanned (but not deals):
Final Round Golf (GBA) $14.99
MOH: Infiltrator (GBA) $14.99
Driver 2 (GBA) $14.99
Spent a lot of time looking in the PS2 section, but only found one of the games I was looking for. Then decided to look in the Gameboy section. There were a bunch of GameBoy Color $4.99 titles (sticker $9.99). Scratched the surface of the GBA section, definitely going back on Monday.

Even if it makes you feel like a loser taking games up to have them scanned, if you know what games are supposed to be what by coming here first, it makes you look pretty damn shrewd when you walk up to the cashier with 5 games all marked $49.99, ask them to scan them, they say the prices are already on there, and you ask again to just check and all 5 $49.99 marked games ring up at $4.96 in a row, one after the other. Making the cashier say "wow".

Rock N Roll Racing for Gameboy Advance, $4.96
Street Fighter Alpha for Gameboy Color, $4.96
Both were tagged $29.99 but I figured Rock N Roll racing might be $5 since it was $10 before and since SFA was old, I asked for a price check.

I just go up to the register and say I'd like to check the prices before I make a decision on what to buy. If they ever say "the prices are on them", I'll just laugh at them a little and say "you dont have the best track record for updated prices around here."
The last two cashiers did atleast one double take each when they saw the price differeances, I guess they werent aware of the sale.
YoshiFan1

Unfortunately the 5 dollar off thing was last week only.
Triple Play 2002 was still 5 bucks, as was good old Haven, but apparently those were before the sale started.
I don't know how well known this was, but hey if only one person looks at this and is informed , well then I did my cheap ass duty

Confirmed. I went to buy some trade in games for Gamestop's trade in three games and get a $10 bonus (I called Gamestop and they said it ends today), but everything was back to its original price. I did, however, still get Red Faction II for the Gamecube for $9.99 (would've been $4.99 last week).

I can also confirm that the 5 dollars is gone.
I just went there to get zelda for GC and then use the gift card for Crystal chronicles but they were out. ackk it didn't even come to mind to pick up some games and trade them elsewhere.
In retrospect I could have gotten Waverace for GC 5 copies for 25 dollars and gotten 10 dollars each or 50 dollars credit. hence Zelda 4 swords for gamecube for 25 dollars. Ackkkkk so ackkkk.

What about Genma Onimusha? Can anyone confirm the price? I know there's two copies left, still in the same bin, still haven't been bought since March (I know, because I was the one who sifted through and found the only two left - one in the bargain bin and one on the bargain shelves and put them together).
Last time I checked, they were $15 in spring. Hmmm....I'm thinking I should pick it up this weekend...I mean, it did get average rating of 9/10. ANd not only that, it is indeed a rare game, especially sealed and new.
