PSP won't recognize UMDs

I know, this is a technical question, but I'm really desperate. My PSP won't recognize any UMDs. The system has 2.5 firmware and doesn't recognize, the demo disc, Virtua Tennis, or Dark Side of the Moon when I pop them in. I tried cleaning the tray with a Q-Tip. Any suggestions?

No UMDs work? Did you try pre-2.5 UMDs? Are the UMDs you're trying to use new titles? If so, you might need firmware 2.6 or 2.7.

No, firmware is fine. As I said in the original post, Virtua Tennis, the demo disc, and a Pink Floyd UMD will not load. I upgraded to 2.7 and still no dice.
