Does anyone know if Street Fighter Alpha: Anthology will be coming out for the Xbox or Xbox 360? And will it be online? I REALLY hope so.
EDIT: I'm updating this thread to a "Send Capcom an e-mail..." so maybe they'll get tired of answering e-mails and put this game online. Here is the some contact info.
megamail@capcom.com is the address I sent my e-mail to and here is the info of the customer service rep that replied to my e-mail.

Nothings been said so far. I doubt it at this point though, even though I wish it did. I'm not gonna bother with the PS2 version.

I think it's just exclusively for the PS2 since most of the Alpha games were PS1 titles. (I think...)

I'd give it a chance, even if it's not a really good one. While the XBox is dead in the water at this point it still has a large install base.
Capcom did it with Mega Man and Street Fighter...they were out for the PS2 first, then the XBox with added features. Hopefully Alpha will also get the treatment. I'd suggest writing them email asking for it, for all the good it will do.

No, thats not true. Although all the Street Fighter Alpha titles made their way to the PSX they also were released on other consoles (such as the Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast). Console exclustivity is not an issue here, but other key factors such as a dying market are, and even if that wasent it then Capcom's will to publish and market the Xbox version would be.

I'd like to get this.. at $20. Alpha 1 addicted me in the arcade, and the PSOne version is shitty.

I'll send over an e-mail to Capcom and see what they say. If I don't get a response, or I do get a response that begins with "Unfortunately, SFA:A will not be coming to the Xbox console..." then does anyone here care to join/start a petition?

I've already bought three different versions of Alpha 3. And I've got Pocket Fighter and the Street Fighter Collections on Ps1. So I have no reason to buy this UNLESS (and that's a big "UNLESS") they put it on XBOX with XBL support. Put it online, and I'll quadruple-dip that sucker in a heartbeat.

Okay, so I get the response back from Capcom and they said that there are no plans for an Xbox or Xbox 360 version to come out as of now. So does anyone know where I would go to start a petition to get this game online with Xbox Live? Thanks, dman.

Honestly, sending individual emails would probably have just as much - probably more - impact than just doing an internet petition, which most people just write off now.
I'll send one as well. What address did you send to?
the reaosn capcom wont be releasing this is because the xbox is dying, and basiclly dead in Japan.

I doubt this'll end up on any system other than PS2. The Xbox is dead and the Xbox 360 has that HD requirement so AFAIK, Capcom can't release this unless they add in 720P support... which won't happen.

only capcom game being released this year for XBOX is Capcom Classics Collection 2.

only capcom game being released this year for XBOX is Capcom Classics Collection 2.That's true, because Capcom said they only plan to release one (http://www.the-magicbox.com/game20060529.shtml) Xbox game in the 2006 fiscal year, which is Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2 (Only game announced for Xbox. Like a few said in this thrad, Xbox is basically dead right now, where most big Xbox supporters have moved onto the Xbox 360 or about to. Most Xbox games aren't exactly selling much anymore also.

I hear what u guys are saying, but what a STUPID move by Capcom to release such a great compilation and not put it online. Not PS2, Xbox, or even the 360 with online capability. Even if they had the option to buy this game with marketplace points, I would get myself a 360 before the pricedrop I was waiting for and buy that sucker right away. Anyway, if u guys want to send Capcom an e-mail and tell them (in a professional manner of course) that they need to make this game with online capabilities then here is the e-mail address I used.

No offence but just a few people in a forum, or even 100, isn't going to help. If Capcom were to release that game on Xbox, they'd expect over 100k in sales. That's just 0.1% in sales. Along with that, many games released on Xbox now won't even break 100k. Also, there's also the problem with the game probably not working on X360 for a while. I already knew many Xbox fans who sold their original Xbox, when buying an X360, or even said they were done buying Xbox games.
Some of us never cared for fighters online, like me. It's just more fun to play someone right next to me, and not deal with lag and annoying people/cheaters.

Or ever.
Peter Moore's speech on BC has led me to believe any future Xbox game that would be released would have no chance in hell of ever being BC. By the time Capcom would announce this and bring it out, you're looking at Fall / Winter, where it's overshadowed by the Wii, PS3, and the 360's big name games.
It's just not worth it for them, espically when all they had to do on the PS2 was translate it from Japan, not completely port it to a brand new system.

I would like it to come out on XBOX though. I kind of don't see a reason why it wouldn't come out, espically seeing how SNK has put out KOF Neowave for only $20. Hell, if they can do CCC2, why not SFA? Both are just about the same thing. But whatever, maybe their good on opposing systems.
Funny how SNK kind of stepped up their game when the XBOX was damn near dead, just like how all those SNK fighters came out on DC in the last days.

I agree it's more fun to play against someone in the same room, or even better an arcade, but for some of us that's just not possible all that often. Which is why online play is so great, despite it's faults.
This game really needs an xbox release. It's too bad Capcom probably won't do it.

Hell, if they can do CCC2, why not SFA? Both are just about the same thing. But whatever, maybe their good on opposing systems. SNK even said Neowave was the last Xbox game. Neowave was actually supposed to be released 6 months before it did, but it kept getting delayed. The reason CCC2 is coming to Xbox is because Digital Eclipse (A western developer I believe) is handing the collection, and their suppose to do it for PS2 and Xbox. Street Fighter Alpha Anthology, was being put together by Capcom in Japan, mostly doing the game for the Japanese market, then later translating it to the U.S. The Xbox is completely dead in Japan and if Capcom USA would have wanted to do an Xbox version, they would have to port it themself, which just isn't worth it.

It's really BS as to why SNK games aren't on PS2 and why this isn't on XBOX. Both the system makers are worth most of the blame though. This game would of been perfect on XBOX with live support at $30.
SNK is still supporing the PS2 in europe. Snk vs capcom, sam sho V, metal slug 3 all got PAL release.
As for playing alpha online, you can go online with the psp version using xlink kai. However the online community for alpha is kinda weak.

This game would of been perfect on XBOX with live support at $30.It's because SCEA will not allow SNK to charge $40-$50 each for their games, which they aren't worth in the first place. SCEA will allow them to do a compilation of two, and sell them for $40, but SNK normally chooses not to do it.

But Doesn't SCEA give lot of Third parties BS? Because I heard that D3 can't release the Simple series over here on PS2 and have to wait until PS3 is out.

There should be a huge SF collection ultimate released for the 360 with LIVE support
I also want the rest of the Sega Ages stuff to make it over here like Phantasy Star that got canned.
Also, where's Sword of the Berserk for PS2??? The injustice of it all is unbearable.

This would hurt the sales of Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting...
In other words, not gonna happen.

Its the same reason why the 15th Anniversary Collection is backwards compatable. To be honest, I'm truely pissed about that too

i don't think it would really hurt sales much at all.
they are different games.
most if not all of the people who buy these games know they are different and would buy both (unless they hated one or the other)
i guess you could make the argument that people would say "why even bother with hyper when the alpha collection is on the way" but i don't think would happen especially when hyper is 10 bucks and even if it were announced today, the alpha collection wouldn't be out for a bit. for 10 bucks the people who were planning to buy hyper without alpha on the way, would still buy it if alpha was being released at the end of the year.
oh well, hopefully they are just waiting a couple months after hyper to announce it. doubtful though.

Alot D3 simple series i wanted and i look forward till 2007 release here in the US. Still hope D3 put more games on 1 DISc. instead 1 game per Disc & charge $20 a piece. The same at SNK games :)

Man, I sure hope so.
BTW, does anyone have a date for Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3? If I ever get a 360, that might hold me over 'til the Alpha compilation.
