i ordered this switch (http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=69)off ebay. the bitch said she had all the necessary cables and power plugs. well she didn't, so now i have a network switch with no power plug. on the switch itself it has 7.5V where the ac adapter should go. is this something i can pick up for cheap down at radio shack or walmart, or am i going to spend my entire saturday hunting down a fucking power adapter for this thing?

btw, i have some spare ac adapters, but none of them are 7.5V whatever that means.

Id say get your money back as the bitch lied.

But RadioShack does indeed carry a lot of power adapters. If you don't think you can find one, bring in the switch and have someone help you.

They sell the part that plugs into the wall by voltage and the part that plugs into the switch by size, so you can mix and match.

i found a 12v in a drawer. this thing says 7.5v. i plugged it in for a second and there is a definite whirring sound coming from the switch. i unplugged it pretty quick. will this 12v cause a thermonuclear meltdown on my network or is it safe to proceed?

Ha, don't do that. You'll fry it. Spend the 5 bucks on a 7.5 volt adapter.
