I JUST bought Special Forces today with birthday money ( :bouncy: ), and I install it, and guess the fuck what, it won't work :bomb:

Here's the error message I'm getting:

I've updated EVERYTHING, restarted my comp, and all that jazz, but it still won't work.

My specs:
P4 3.00Ghz w/ H.T.
1024MB DDR2 RAM
256 GeForce 6800

Can anyone help? I emailed tech support, but I know they won't get a response to me until tommorow, and I really wanted to play my friend on Special Forces tonight...

lol, wow, that is a crazy error message.

Uninstall it and try a reinstall, of both BF 2 and Special Forces, maybe that'll work?

EDIT: NM, seem to have found a solution on the EA boards. Let's see if it works...

 That will take...so...long...

The error message makes it sound like somethings missing, and the only thing I can think of is that something didn't get installed right during installation.

Throw the exact error message into google too, see if you can't find someone else who's posted the exact same problem, that's also what I do if I get an error message I don't understand.

EDIT: did the work for you

This one is in German, but it sounds like the same thing:

I guess update to Patch 1.3 and see if that works.

Yeah, reinstalling patch 1.3 with the full install fixed it. Thanks for helping Roufuss :D

It is a crazy error message though...was Dice having a little too much fun?

Yes. They should spend less time making crazy error messages and more time making better patches for BF2.

I completely agree. This game CTD to me all the time since 1.3 came out
