Is it me or did this thing fly under the rader.
What it does is takes your pokemon from your Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, upcoming green, and red games. Then you can store them on a memory card. It says it will make storing pokemon easier. It also has some extra features including the ablity to play Ruby and Sapphire on the TV. It comes with a GCN/GBA link cable, memory card 251, and 2 buttons. It will be shipped on July 12th. Also I do not know how much shipping is.

Yeah, this definitely flew under the radar! I actually thought Nintendo forgot all about it when they didn't release it with Pokemon Colosseum. I guess they'll release it here after all. I don't like the fact that it's exclusive to Pokemon Center, though. I don't want to order online, and my family and I just went to New York City on Spring Break. They should sell it through other major retailers as well.

Yes. In fact I am pretty sure Nintendo owns the store you would buy it from.

did you guys know the way that they let you play ruby and saphire on your tv is because those two game and already burnt onto the pokemon box disc. only if theres a way to crack it. then you get ruby and saphire for 20bucks. without the need to have a sp and game.

no this only lets you play whats already on the disc, but only unlocks if you have that cart for the sp. it does not play straight from the cart like the game boy player. it just tricks you into thinking it does play from the cart. the bandwidth from the gba connectivity cables are far too less to play the entire game, thats y when u dl from the cube to gba, it takes kind of long, and it only plays small games (billy hatcher's sonic, nights into dreams, chu chu rocket, and zelda's tingle thingee.. ect) i bet some ppl would buy it just for that function, thats also y u cant play green and red on it... cause it hasn't officially been out for the us yet. nintendo is very very smart..

Neat, I understood that they had stopped production on this game. they hyped it up a while ago, but it's actual release went completely under the radar.

it could be worth it just for the memory card and link cable. Pokemon is unusually fun for some reason

Where did you get that information? That's crazy stuff right there. How do you expect to play saved Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire games? It loads the games from the GBA carts. I don't know where you got the idea that it does otherwise, but that is not correct. And the bandwidth has nothing to do with being able to play a whole game, unless it loads the whole game before you're able to play it. If it did that, then yeah, you'd be waiting for a very long time; but it doesn't do that. The game is streamed in real-time, so it loads as you go. That's why you can use your GBA as a controller with the Gameboy Player.

please note that the gameboy player is a "hardware" and the pokemon box is just a disc "software" the gameboy link cable it self does not have that function and it transfers slower than USB devices, it looks like a firewire port (which is hella fast) but its not. and the gamecube it'self does not have storage capability, hence the memory cards. why do you think the cube takes time on reading the mem cards and uploading or downloading to the GBA. if emulation of GBA games can be done with just a cable there wouldn't be a need for a Gameboy player. rest assure that this was not conjured up after a session of greens, but a lesser known fact. i work closely with bootleggers (no relation) and cracking on nintendo for years. i do not support bootlegging in anykind, but i do learn alot of tech stuff from them. and just another food for thought, the gba games are much larger than a 251 mem card believe it or not.
you can play the saved games because the cube uses your cart like it uses a memory card, it reads it, then saves it back onto the cart.
edit: if you knew anything about emulation you'd know that you can play small roms via usb to gba, but for the larger games like FFTA, Metroid and esp pokemon because of its RT clock it is impossible. nintendo made this impossible for a reason *gameboy player, if it was possible you would see 3rd party companys selling emulation disc packed with link cables in competition with the gameboy player.

The ROMs are on the disc. The game SAVES are loaded from the cart.
That is all.
It's the same deal with the N64 Pokemon Stadiums.

Okay . . . yeah, I see this . . . very clearly, as a matter of fact. Does that make your day? Anyway, I don't know if what you have said really is true, although it could make sense. But, to quote someone else: "You learn something cool everyday." However, I attribute your failure in your original post to not explain the whole process of how this disc plays the two games (running off the disc but downloading the save from the cart) to my "pwnership."

i just thought it was ovious since we all know u have to plug the cart into the cube, saves read from the carts. where else would it read from? oh well i guess its not important how it works, as long as it works.
bak on topic:
im planning on getting pokemon colosseum from http://www.dvdsoon.com/show-title-details.xml?uid=109740 thanks to nintendofangirl. its approx. $40 shipped brand new, but it takes quite some time to ship. so i was wondering if anyone recommends the pokemon box to go with it? has anyone bought this yet? im getting the game + the limited edition strat guide for my gf, ya;ll think pokemon box would be a waste of money since she'll just be catching em all in 1 game.
