Who else has re-discovered this lost gem?

I had it for a while. I still think the Incognito devs never get enough credit. Twisted Metal Black, Downhill, War of the Monsters... and now warhawk... they have a good record and msot of their titles get washed out of existance for some reason.
I hope they make another downhill game... it's one of the very few race games I like, and I hate race games. reminds me of road rash.

Re-discovered ? I immediately thought it was better than SSX(any) .
It was developed by Incognito .
That right there should tell you it definitely doesn't suck .

Funny - I just played this again the other night after a year or so, and then this thread popped up. This game is incredibly fun and looks gorgeous, with incredibly creative levels and a real sense of vertigo. I especially love riding a sheep onto giant ice blocks in siberia and watching the water crash up from the impact. Incredibly fun and awesome game.
Its biggest drawback is the unwieldy menu system.

My thoughts EXACTLEY. I can't believe I shelved such a well made game.

I just saw this the other day, at Blockbuster I think. I'll have to go pick it up.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I've never seen this game used in person, my mother got it for me one christmas. It was used and heavily scratched with no manual, but it still works perfectly.

I still have the demo and I thought it was fun. DD was definitely underrated.
I got it for my friend as a gift once, and my friend really seemed to enjoy it. I never gave it much of a chance though, and its doubtful I will. But it does sound good....

Downhill Domination is one of my favorite games from this generation. I go back to it again and again, and every time I do, I find myself wondering why this game didn't do better. I'm not a huge racing fan, but every now and then a racing game will catch my eye, and inevitably I'll play it non-stop for a week or two and then never again. DD is the exception to that rule. I'm sure I'll still be popping it in occasionally 5 years from now.

Very underrated IMO. I had to get this at Blockbuster as I seemingly couldn't find it anywhere else at the time. Very fun game. The camera can be off at times when going down the mountain, but otherwise there really isn't any flaw in it. Great addreniline pumping game, not like the snorefest that the SSX series took to in SSX3 (I practically fell asleep during the load times and that bloody EA commentator that I wish someone would shoot by now). War of the Monsters is probably my favorite from Incog though.

I bought this during one of the eb blowouts for about $7 or $8 I think. It's still sitting sealed somewhere. I'll have to give it a try.

Sorry to drudge up this old thread, but I picked this game up the other day and it's wicked fun. It was actually this thread I saw a month ago, that made me think of it. I had $10 credit I had to use, so I grabbed this and I'm glad I did. Though it makes me sad as well, because a sequel to the game was never made.

Downhill Domination is tight. I loved the video to the game, when I saw it in the Spring 2003 Jampacked. Sony sent me a demo, which I played a lot. I eventually bought it, and still love it. I might play it right now. :)
