View Full Version : Atari 2600 "TV Switch"

Yeah. So I'm not sure if it's RF interference or what, but I can't play Atari 2600 because of what I presume is my TV Switch. I've tried two consoles, and a multitude of games. Moving the RF switch around changes the picture, but there's "fuzz", artifacts, and a lot of static.

I don't know why.

Anyone have a solution, and if not can you refer me to a reliable replacement?

I'm not sure if you have anything else hooked up to that gamebox like cable TV, but if you don't need the switch box to actually switch between cable and the 2600 you can use one of these:

It gives a much better picture than the game switch boxes, and you can find an identical part at Radioshack if you don't want to order one. I got a goldplated one at Radioshack for like $5 and it works great.

Also, Radioshack does still carry the switch boxes if you wanted to try a new one of those.

Some of us have 100's of games for the 2600 and other old systems that we collect for... :D
