A friend and I made a bet about RPGs for the N64. He says there was never a turn based RPG (In english, not a Japanese import) for the Nintendo 64. I say there had to be one. Could someone please tell me of one and I'd be super greatful!

Thanks for your time

Paper Mario was sort of a turn based RPG.

So I guess you win!

Quest 64 is turned-based, but you don't just stand around like most other turn-based RPGs. Also, it was made by THQ, so you are win!

I wouldn't call quest 64 a turn based game.

Paper Mario definitely was though.

These days, we've come to demand fast-paced action from an RPG's combat system. Aside from some problems with view, Quest 64's turn-based combat control is terrific. It's smooth, simple, and easy to learn. The game makes great use of the C-buttons as the four elements, which correspond to four separate schools of magic, with ten-plus spells in each once you gain some experience, all available with a minimum of button pushing.

First thing that popped in my head was Quest 64. Didn't even think of Paper Mario.

I know one that hasn't been mentioned, but I can't remember the name right now. Let me look for it and I'll post it later.

Muaaahaahahaaa, there we have it: Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage.

I've never played any version of it, but Ogre Battle?
