Sorry if this has been posted, but this infuriates me:

$89.99? Are they serious? Am I the only one pissed about this?
//edit: You have to C&P the link above to get it to work. Try this (http://www.ebgames.com/search.asp?sortby=default&searchtype=quicksearch&searchcount=12&Keyword=guitar+hero&platform=0&find.x=0&find.y=0&find=Search). Scroll down to Guitar Hero II with guitar bundle.

You linky no worky.
Edit: You're right about it being BS if that ends up being that price. Plus $49.99 is too much for the game by itself.

Sorry about the link not working when you click it, but that's a problem with their site, not the link. Copy and paste the link to get it to work.

So, let me get this straight: EB lists a price for a game that isn't coming out for about 5 months, for which an official price hasn't been announced, and you go into a hissy fit about the makers of the game?
Yeah, that makes sense on so many levels.

I'm torn between not buying it out of protest or caving because I want GH2 so bad.
fuck, I know I'll end up buying it anyway.

How is saying "this pisses me off/infuriates me" a "hissy fit"? Shut the fuck up, evan.

Didn't RedOctane get bought up by some larger company (Take 2 I think)? If so, then I'm not surprised if it does end up costing that much. But on the other hand, a larger publisher means more copies so I can just wait it out for a price drop.

Surprised nobody noticed this a month and a half ago when it was announced.

I'm not pissed because I already have a guitar controller. Just buy a used controller for 20 at EB now, and get the game for 50 when it comes out. It would be the same price as a Guitar Hero 1 bundle.

I bet they add some button or something to the guitar to make it where you need the new guitar to play GH2.

Then I'd personally take my current guitar controller and use it to beat the crap out of everyone at Red Octane.

$10 more for the sequel doesn't sound that bad.
You'll probably be able to find it for at least $70 or under anyways.

As long as it can use the guitar from the first game, it's not that bad. Damn near every game releases at $50 or so... why should they be any different? This IS a business after all.
And as for the $40 Guitar controller... I bet it cost them a HELL OF A LOT OF money to develop the thing, and setup manufacturing of it. It's not really all that damn expensive if you really like the game, and have a regular job and stable spending money.

The last thing in the description - "Supports the Guitar Hero SG controller."
So if you have the first one, the only good deal is to buy the new one used X_x I sure as hell am not gonna buy a $100 game

Nope, it uses the exact same controller. They're not changing the controller for GH2. I believe the pricing can be attirbuted to Game (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=281554) + Guitar (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802319) = $90, so an adjustment before release wouldn't surprise me.
Also, you just now (http://www1.gamespot.com/ps2/puzzle/guitarhero2/news.html?sid=6148314) found out about this? I'm glad I paid $60 (or was it $70?) for my game+controller and only need the game this time around.

I'm sure I'll be able to find the game only used at Gamestop for 39 or something.

I paid $80 for the first one, and it was well worth it. I'll gladly pay $50 for GH2.

I wouldn't hesitate to pay that much if it was on 360 , and included the original songs also .

Doubt it.
IGN: Nice. Now just to be clear, Guitar Hero II uses the same guitar as the first game.
JT: Yeah, I mean, literally, we'd be screwing people if we made them buy a whole new guitar to play [the sequel].

The game isn't even out yet, I don't see what the problem is.
Also when I bought my Guitar Hero 1 w/ guitar at EB Games earlier this year they were charging $10 above retail. The game was only $69.99 or less at every other store that was carrying it, but EB managed to slap on a $79.99 price tag. Lame? Yes, but who cares I wanted the game...and it's amazing.
It wouldn't be far-fetched to think EB/Gamestop might be doing the same thing this time around.

Guys. EB/GS bumped up the price on GH1 above MSRP. Do you really think they wouldn't do it on GH2?
This is you guys bitching about a retailer, not a publisher.
If they added a 360 logo the packaging no one would notice the difference.
Still, I would never pay $80 for this, or $60 for that matter.

didn't I just mention that in my post above yours? :)

Also if there was a 360 logo on the box, it still would matter. $90 is still $90, regardless of what game it is for. There are still people who feel $59.99 is a lot for 3rd party 360 games. I'm not saying that it isn't, but that there are people who feel that way.

Yeah, the Gamespot link just mentions the Gamestop computer price, so this isn't official yet. The game IS worth it, though. It might be more expensive since they're getting some much bigger name songs this time around, licensing costs may have gone up a bit.
I wouldn't complain too much if they keep the bundle under $100... it is totally worth it!!
