View Full Version : Name of that game..
Its been bugging me for a long time and I decided to get professional help with it ;)
I played it about 7 years ago.. all I remember is the very beginning.. You are in a ship room and your snoring really loud. I remember something is trying to wake you up using like a cannon and all these crazy loud things, then a birds feather lands on you and you wake up.
I remember is kinda like a Kings Quest game where you click stuff to get by areas... Anything would help!

While I haven't actually played it, a wild guess would be Escape from Monkey Island.

No clue, but I'm tagging this out of curiosity. I'll agree with Chacrana because it sounds like Monkey Island.

Uh... *shifty eyes* I just reinstalled The Curse of Monkey Island today... and the beginning is where you are writing in a journal while sitting in a bumper car in the middle of the ocean. You are then captured by pirates and put into a holding cell. So, while it may have been a monkey island game, it wasn't Curse. Sorry ><

I do not think it is a Monkey Island game. What you guys are thinking of is the middle of the game of Secret of Monkey island. After you already depart on the ship and before you enter the island. This part is after you mix the potion to get you to Monkey Island. The crew is lounging about and you go up stairs and put your self into a cannon to go to Monkey Island.
The Monkey Islands start like this :
Secret :You start on top of a mountain.
LeChucks revenge : You are hanging of a rope telling Elaine the story of how you got there.
Curse : The Boat floating intro and you are picked up by LeChuck.
Escape : You are tied to a mast in the middle of a ship battle.

When you first gain control of Guybrush in Curse, you're tied up on a ship in the middle of a naval battle. Wally is firing a cannon.
I vote Curse.

Might be the hard mode that he is think of, since the puzzle are quite different.

HA!!!
Goblins 3 or Goblins Quest.
(Gob3 is what they called it in Europe where the game originated)
Thank you. Thank you. No, really, you all can stop applauding now.
Also, I just want to add really quick:
The CD version removed a lot of really cool art that was present in the DOS version of the game (such as Blount getting eaten by the werewolf), but it did add rather good voice acting. If you want the Dos version, it's definitely easier to obtain, being that buying it will no longer aid the now-defunkt Sierra On-Line and/or Coktel Vision.
And last but not least, Gobliins 2 (the letter i is there twice for a reason, just as in Gobliiins it is three times, just to make your searching easier) is also excellent, if you feel like solving mad puzzles all day. Those games meant a lot to me, because I played them with a girl back in middle school, and she ended up being the first girl I ever kissed. We also played Golden Axe 2-player back in, like, 3rd grade. We've beaten Gobliiins and Gobliins 2 together, and we both got stuck with Gob3 on the level before the last one, because we had the french copy.
