I'm trying to start a nice collection of Xbox games and I was wondering what you think are nessasary titles to have besides Halo.

With all the great games on xbox I find myself playing it more than my 360 recently especially since the CC sale. Anyone else feel that way?

That's a great list! Most of the Sega games are well worth owning. You need to play Phantom Dust!
I'd like to add:
Guilty Gear X2:Reload (this and MVSC2 are the best 2D fighting games for xbox)
Steel Batallion (you don't necessarily need to own this, just be alone in a room for a few hours with it)
DOA: Xtreme Beach Volleyall (you don't necesarily need to own this, just be alone in a room for a few hours with it) ;););)

Yeah I tried listing all the Xbox only games off the top of my head. Guilty Gear is amazing. I forgot about Steel Battalion, but if you can find it at a decent price its def worth getting.

you can't wrong with any FIFA soccer games. Although you may not like soccer, it is great for any sports fan in general. Kinda hard at first to get the controlling down, but fun once you start to get the hand of it. check it out!

I am going to exculde sports games from my list because there are so many of them, and peoples opinions of them differ depending on how they like the sport.
The two games you must have are Halo and Halo2
Besides those here are some other great, classic Xbox games:
Star Wars: Knights of the Republic
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition
GTA: San Andreas
The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay
Jade Empire
Crimson Skies
If you like racing games:
Project Gothem 2
Burnout 3

I'll say it again. Don't forget Armed & Dangerous. The shark gun is the coolest weapon this side of Half Life's gravity gun. That said, don't forget Half Life 2 either. Phantom Dust, the Halos, Guilty Gear, Oddworld, Riddick, and the Brothers in Arms games are all must own.

XBOX 360 is great, but like you said with all the sales. The orginal XBOX is so much more fun to play with. I was hoping that the orginal xbox would come out with a bundle to compete against the 129 price drop of the PS2. But all I see is the Fronza bundle. Actually good luck even trying to buy that. I think Microsoft is only producing the 360 now.
My 2 cents:
Burnout Revenge
Half Life 2

Just picked up the Warriors for $7.50 (cad) at Rogers. If you haven't played it, I'd recommend picking it up. Best game I've played in a while. Atmospheric as hell, crude, violent and everything a beat 'em up should be.

When I want to know how good a game is I'm pretty much a slave to GameRankings.com. Since they combine all the reviews out there, it's usually a pretty good indication of how good a game is.
You can sort by just Xbox, and by year and other criteria.
The top 20 Xbox games, according to them, are:
1. Halo: Combat Evolved
2. Halo 2
3. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
4. Grand Theft Auto Double Pack
5. Ninja Gaiden Black
6. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
7. Burnout 3: Takedown
8. Project Gotham Racing 2
9. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
10. Forza Motorsport
11. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
12. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
13. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow
14. Ninja Gaiden
15. Soul Calibur II
16. Psychonauts
17. NFL 2K3
18. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game of the Year Edition
19. NCAA Football 2004
20. Half-Life 2
Below is a link to their Advanced Search. Just change the "Platform" to Xbox and the "Limit results to" to 200 if you want the full list.

I am enjoying "Call of Cthulhu" right now although I can't recommend that game for everyone- Its not a game for the impatient.
Otherwise my favorites are:
Jade Empire
Doom 3
Suffering
Burnout Revenge (I hear Burnout 3 is better though)
X-men Legends
Kingdom Under Fire (That game is not for everyone though)
Far Cry Instincts
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System
