Just looking for some advice. Haven't got my 360 yet, but I'm about to order another wireless controller. Is it worth it to get 2 Play and Charge kits, or just 1 and an extra rechargeable battery. I would be getting these through Overstock.com with the 10% off and free shipping so here are my options:

1 Wireless Controller - 40.81
1 Play and Charge Kit - 17.76
1 Rechargeable battery pack - 10.44
Total: $61.75 shipped

or

1 Wireless Controller - 40.81
2 Play and Charge Kits - 35.52
Total: $68.30 shipped

What would you all recommend?

depends, if someone is ALWAYS playing with you, then get 2 chargers, otherwise, get 1 charger and a battery, and charge the other one if it needs charging while you use the other one

Get a quick charge kit and one extra battery. That way you'll always have one battery on charge.

The wireless one that comes with the 360 doesn't come with a rechargeable battery or charger or anything right?

I just got rechargeable AA batteries. You can usually get about 8 and a charger for a decent price....$25 or so.

Exactly! There is no reason anyone should buy a play and charge kit. Rechargable AA batteries are cheaper and more versatile.

Well my dad has a hard time moving, so an extra $5-$10 is worth it for him for the convience of not having to take the batteries out of the back the contoller, place them into a charger the right way, bend over to plug it in a wall, and do it all again in reverse to get them back.

With the quickcharge, he would never have to get out of his seat :D

Yes you should do this. Modern rechargeable batteries are way better then in the past. That way in a pinch if you need some AA's you can pop open you 360 controller and use them.

i dunno, i was thinking the same thing... I was very close to buying the MONSTER rechargable AA's, but then decided to go with the play and charge with two battereis.... it is really just super hasle free... i plug the play and charge kit into my pc, sense it is in the same room, and its ALWAYS on... but you can plug it into your 360 as well, and it works the same.... but really its a no brainer... shit starts flashing, plug it in, a few hours later its charged, no hastleing with batteries, and losing them, and having to have some where to let the other ones charge... Unless you need wirelessness 100% of the time.... i think the play and charge kit is the way to go...

I have 2 Play and Charge kits. I only recently got my 360, but it just seemed like the best way to go (plus the second was used, and obtained during the recent B2G1 at EB/GS). Nothing wrong with ordinary batteries or ordinary rechargables, though. One of the EB/GS guys was telling me that using the quick charge shortens the overall battery life, but I don't know how much salt to take that with. Also, does the Play and Charge enable use of the wireless controller on a PC? I assumed it would, but haven't tried it (it isn't really an issue for me as I don't play many PC games, but it could be another selling point).

I ended up getting the 2 play and charge's and is has worked well. Unfortunately it doesn't let you use the wireless controller on a PC like I had hoped it would.

Bummer, I had just assumed it would work. I guess they want people with wireless controllers to buy those base stations (whatever they are called) to use them with a PC.

how quick does the thing charge? I think its 2 hours for 1 battery and 4 for 2. that is assuming you ment the quick charge thingy.
