Probably already asked and answered, but can you use the original Xbox headset on the 360? I know it doesn't have muting and volume control on the cable, but does that make a difference?

yes u can but u won't be able to use the mute or volume adjustments. the only way you can adjust it is through the dashboard under personal settings

I used it for a while when my first 360 headset broke and it worked fine. The only difference is that the 360 headset is a lot more comfortable.
