Microsoft warranty, PLEASE HELP

Hi, i just ordered a USED wireless xbox 360 controller off of ebay, but it wont sync up with my new 360 from overstock. The four green lights on the controller just continues to flash green. On microsoft's website, they said there may be someting wrong with the controller. Is there a way Microsoft can tell which controller came with my system, as I have the warranty for my 360, and if i could i will get the broken controller fixed. If not, i will get a refund from the ebayer (hopefully). IS there a way microsoft can tell if a controller came with my system or not?

I had the same problem with the controller I bought from the store. You need to press the sync button on the controller and on the 360 in order for it to work properly.
