Before I get upset, are there ANY differences between the regular bulky boxed sets of SG-1 and the new slim packs other than size?
Thanks,

No difference other than size. The discs themselves are exactly the same.
Sure is convenient that they're launching them during the DDD sale...

I wish the season 9 set wasn't so far off, it sounds like it might be in January at the earliest.

Ack so if past SG-1's freezy, skip or have missing elements then these will too? Guess wait for obvious HD versions then.

ARrrrgghh.. Man, I wish there was a way to "trade up" versions. I *love* Stargate SG-1, but those sets take up SO much space it's ridiculous. I'll bet they're going for a lot cheaper than what I paid for my sets too...

Dont know where you get that from, previous sets have been released around October.

i took mine and put them in single-width, five disc cases from genesysdtp.com. Each side holds two discs (overlapping, like the Lois&Clark sets) and then there is a flap in the middle. It is such a space-saver it is unbelievable. I also printed out sleaves to match, and it looks great on the shelf.

It would be nice if you could purchase the new thin packaging for the older sets though. I replaced my first two seasons with thinpacks, and now both two seasons fit in the season 1 box.

The local BB had them still in the traditional Amaray cases (granted, only seasons 5-8 that they offered), and that was a month ago, including season 9.

^ What?
Season 9 has been delayed because Fox is now going to bring them out instead of Sony. There has been no date given yet but it will most likely be after the date Sony gave.

You are unfortunately mistaken. Season 9 has not been released.
