I am currently looking for a job, bit wondering what store websites have online applications I can fill out. I've already done a few (which I will post below), but any help would be great. I don't have a car, so this is my reason why it's more convenient for me to do this all online. Pplease post any links you know of. Thx to any CAGs who help :)
so far I've already done:
http://www.RadioShack.com
http://www.BestBuy.com
http://www.CircuitCity.com
I'm open to almost anything, especially if it's retail.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Decided to dig up this old thread seeing as I am re looking for a new job due to moving... found out wal mart, target, and apple computer stores have online stuff. hope this still helps other CAGs.

Useful tip: Do not put "former russian gymnast in Olympics, received perfect score" on your applications. They might not believe you.

I'm interested too, I'm low on cash and need a new job. I was really hoping for radio shack since they pay $7 plus commission and bonus for cell phones and such. I had a friend who worked there until a few months ago and he was making about $14 an hour. I attended a "recruitment meeting" you have to attend for the interview and never heard back though so that's out. I have holes in my job history that hurt me though, due to a combination of being in canada (no work visa) and selling on ebay. So if I could apply to a bunch online that would make it easier.

how so with ebay? that's odd (don't go into detail if you don't want to)
I just finished the hollywood video application. I'm realizing that most online websites must have the same contract with whoever makes these online applications. They are all in almost the same format from the questions down to the layout.

Don't bother with these online applications. Half the time, the people in charge of hiring don't bother looking at them. The other half, they just don't give a fuck about people doing the applications online.
If you must, just make sure to follow-up and show interest in the job.

You lie.
BTW, I can't find that memory stick (translation: I haven't looked)
You're better off picking up a 512 at BB for $20. Since I would've charged you like $8 shipped.

Hmm... I guess I'll look into the BB one, though I would rather pay $8 shipped.
But I've actually have gotten jobs at Circuit City, Best Buy and Costco from online apps. Plus interviews at other places.

CVS has online apps, as does Cold Stone Creamery, where I work. Since each store is a franchise, each store is different, but be forewarned: I have never been to a more disorganized, unfriendly, low-paying, painful to work at place than Cold Stone.

Lowes and Home Depot have online apps. I think Wal-Mart does too. I have never gotten a job or even a call from any of the applications I've filled out online, and there were many. I have gotten hired for every one that I've applied for in person except one, so there is something to be said for applying in person if possible, but I think a lot of places either tell you to go online to apply or have a computer set up for you to do it in the store.

Fuck online apps man...dont waste your time unless the store tells you that you must.
Just think about it...you do know how many people must have applied online also? Most likely 200 people a day apply to the store online. I have a friend who does the hiring at Circut City and he says that they try their hardest not to even look at the online apps because they would have to search through 100000 of apps more often than not he just picks the very first person that comes up.
Also if you apply online you most likely have to do those fucking dumbass personallity test that will more than likely screen you out. I have put in many a online app...i have never been hired from one and sometimes i even get screen out from the personallity test before it even ask be my work history.
Anyway...really online huge as chains and retail stores even do those online apps so after about 2 days of doing them your going to run out of places to apply for.

Blockbuster and Petsmart also have online applications, but as most people have said, online apps are useless...I haven't heard from any of the 5 or 6 apps i've filled out. fuck you online apps!

I prefer online apps... it's the same damn app I have to fill in at the store, except I don't have to sit at the store for an hour filling it out.

Costco has it online, and I'll even be nice and get the link (http://wss.unicru.com/hirepro/C409/applicant.jsp?content=&Site=-3&k=no) for you. As for people complaining about online apps, well, sorry. I'd gotten a call back a day after putting in my online app for Costco. Maybe the company that you were with didn't care about your skills and such enough to want you.

pretty much every store that I go to now tells me to go to their website to apply. I waste a few bustrips every once in a while because of this.
Also, for anyone who dosn't think they call: I applied to CC a few days ago, and the day after I did so they gave me a call for an interview. I still have yet to hear from them, but I'll call em up soon.
also, thx everyone so far. post more plz :)

Thats where I found my first job, and I am actually a manager at my restaurant now too :)
What I like is that you usaully only have to put in your information once, and it will auto-fill your information for other applications.
Edit: It also lists openings and positions at store for you as well.

A heads up... did the CVS as well as www.walgreens.com application. The Walgreens online application is totally different from all the others and is real nice. You put your zip code and you choose how far you want to go (from 5 miles to I think 30 or 50). From there, after filling out the application, it sends your application to all the Walgreens in that radius. Real nice IMHO and raises employment chances.

once again thanks. So far I got quite a few out of the way and once those are done I'll give each store a call to check on my status.
Yeah, I went on a job hunt recently because I'm sick of my current one, and everywhere I went, they told me to apply online. After 5 in a row, I said fuck it. You already got BB and CC, but Target, Home Depot, and Costco are all online apps too.

I applied to CC online on a Friday, they called me on Saturday, I was interviewed and hired on Sunday, then started on Monday. That shit was lightning quick. I've been with them since October. If you end up with CC, just dont be a CSA if you can avoid it. They get the most shit from customers.

I called and they said that the position I wanted was full, but I'll call them again and ask for another position sine they said they still have my application.

just finished the borders one... that one's a bitch since it has some long questions at the end.

Walgreens just gave me a call a min ago and I'm headed out the door in the next hour for an interview. I'm more surprised that stores are actually calling me for once instead of me calling them.
I reccomend the walgreens online application since it applys you to as many stores as you want that are in your area all at the same time.

For the love of god no!!!!
DO NOT WORK FOR SEARS/KMART FOR ANY REASON.
I work there now...and we are all getting laid off...they are closing up roughly 10,000 stores nation wide. That company is dying fast..not even get caught up in it.
Now i have to find another job.

If you really want the retail job, apply in person. It shows them dedication. The reason online dosen't work for some places, because they get a ton of BS applicants. Funny thing is, they should just get rid of OLA, if they're not even going to look at them. It's a waste of money and time.
Since you don't have a car, better tell them you have reliable transperatation.

Fun thing is, at Costco at least, there are ONLY online applications. Some people come in all the time and I can only tell them to go online and good luck.

Sorry to bump up this thread but its a very god thread to have.
Does anybody here work for Lowes or Home Depot? I was wondering because it says we get Medical, Dental, Vision, Short-Term Disability Insurance, and Life Insurance for just Part-Time and you get even more when your full-time. Is this true?
