Once the ps3 hits homes, will ps2 games drop a good amount? I was just wondering about this and figured once the ps3 is out, I can score on tons of ps2 games (no body will want ps2 games anymore?) that I have been wanted to get thro ebay and other stores. Or am I getting my hopes up...? What do you all think?

Games don't need a newer console to have their prices drop. PS2 games will drop in price regardless of the PS3. Everything drops in price.
Most new Xbox titles have been releasing at the $30-$40 mark. So, yeah; probably.

Do you mean will the price of newly released games drop to $30-$40, or copies of games like Digital Devil Saga and Marvel vs Capcom 2 will become cheap because they're "old"? Perhaps in the first case, no in the second.

This thread is a litle on the dumb side, but aren't a LOT if not all of games for the PS2 being released at $40 already? If it's not demanded or rare the prices will drop anyways

most games are coming out at 40 or below already

I agree. Rare good games tend to retain their value. Especially so since PS3 is supposed to be able to run PS2 games.

I dont think its guaranteed, the launch price is really dictated by the publisher. Sure, EA has cut current gen prices, but who else has followed?

Maybe release prices, but probably not used prices. ie - I got raped yesterday paying $8 for Megaman Legends, but paid a delightful $5 for Twisted Metal Black.
