Ok, so I'm going on a trip from Indiana to Vermont, and am definatly going to bring my DS since we're driving. When I'm not driving, I'll be starting Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow. Hope it's good. BUT! I have a huge problem. From past experiences of trying to play in the car, the sun if one bad mother fucker. It makes it fucking hard to see the screen. Does anyone have any solutions to being able to see the screen and somehow block out the sun or something?

Thanks.

Oh, and I would rather not spend $50 just to upgrade my DS.

If you get some of the crappy third party screen protectors (like Pelican, Intec, etc.), they actually help a lot to reduce glare from any source. They do dim the image and the picture quality becomes a bit blurry but you'll get used to it quick. I'm not sure if it'll completely block it out but it'll definitely make it bareable. I was able to play WarioWare outside in the sunlight when I used it for a short period with my fat DS.

That's about the only advantage to any non-Hori brand screen protector.

Oh, and I would rather not spend $50 just to upgrade my DS. I spent $130 and it was totally worth it... Just get a thick blanket and make a fort and stay under there the entire trip. It'll keep the sun out.

:D

Seriously though you could throw together a pup tent to hang in while your not driving.

Looks like I'll make a tent. Hopefully I can pick up NSMB for $30 with the $5 a game from TRU before we leave tomorrow.

cochesecochese, I'll be going to Manchester? or something like that in southern Vermont for my cousins wedding, but we'll probably be there for a day then we're going to New York, Pennsylvania, we'll hit Pittsburgh before that (Damned Steelers beat the Colts) and I dunno what else. Can you recommend anything we "MUST" do while we're out there?

In Manchester? Nothing, unless you like outlets.

I'm up north and there's no way I can get down there on short notice to hang out. Sorry man. Maybe next time?

EDIT: Sleepkyng, you're from N.Bennington? What's up?

I always just bring a pillow and prop it up against the window, then rest my head against it. It blocks the light, as well as keep me nice and comfy. :)

Get A Ds Lite

I've yet to try out my DS Lite outside in the day. Does it really look that good?

On launch day I was waiting in front of TRU and someone who was waiting was playing a DS Lite. It was on level 3 brightness. I still had trouble seeing what game he was playing while I was talking to him about it. Probably not as bad as the original DS, but the problem still seemed to be there. I could be wrong.
