That's too bad, Zwei is a better game than either of those 2 titles.
It's one of the highlights of the Saturn library.

i hope i didn't make a bad mistake,
my reasoning, was i saw it in the library used book store, and i thought i was worth something. then i put it up on craiglist and someone wanted it. my intentions behind buying the game were to sell for some easy cash, cuz im a high school student. i don't even own a sega saturn. but i know i love my ds.
the guy i traded it to said he had the japanese version, but couldn't understand japanese, so i guess he is the one that would appreciate it more than me

Zwei is insanely fun. I've played through it a shitload of times, just for the fun factor. It also looks alot better than Panzer one IMO, so it's aged better. It's like Rez: a great rail shooter with enough gimmicks that just constantly drag you back in.

Maybe he was thinking he was buying Panzer Dragoon Saga? I haven't played the second panzer in a while, but isnt it just shooter? The jap version shouldnt have hindered him much.

Well, there is no use on commenting on its worth since you own it, but it is one of the finer games on the Sega Saturn console. Quite honestly, I think it's one of the most cinematic games of its generation, and if anything, still hold us up as far as presentation. Choosing German as the dialog for its movies gave it an epic atmosphere not seen in games those days, and the music is -quite- superb.
Honestly, I think purchasing a Saturn to play this game would have been a much better investment than anything currently or pending on Nintendo DS. The graphics in Zwei are one of those games that remind me "PSX graphics are better" is a complete and utter lie. Anything that looks better is either pre rendered or generated over a very small area, while Zewi is a massive living world even if it is a rail shooter.
Mind you, there are more than one ways to finish a level, you have quite a bit of freedom when it comes to camera movement and player movement. The mechanics between lock/fire are simple yet effective, and the score system/growth system is very well crafted. Watching your dragoon grow as you play the game is very exciting, especially the first time around. The story makes quite a bit of sense after three play throughs, and baby dragoon [in the intro] is ADORABLE.
I highly suggest you look into the Saturn. If what you are playing on DS seems new or innovative to you, I invite you with a whole and honest heart to play some of the best games the Saturn has to offer. Games such as the above mentioned Zwei, and other great titles, like Nights into Dreams, Legend of Oasis, Burning Rangers, Guardian Heroes, and Dragon Force. Not to mention the wealth of excellent arcade conversions [first and third party] and the huge amounts of unique games . I am fairly certain, in fact, quite sure, that your gaming experiences on DS will seem less fresh and less captivating than they do now.
No, seriously, anyone who even half way owned a Saturn is a BIT more critical of today's games than others...
