I have used ebay for a couple years now and have never had a problem, until now. I purchased a DVD box set off of ebay and in the auction that author wrote that it was new and complete, but unsealed. When I got it the discs looked fine but the box was a lil bent, no worries about that though. My problem is there is no booklet in it. Its is for a tv series so that the booklet gives a lil summary of every episode, it helps me know whats on each disc and what not. So I emailed the person a couple of days ago and I have not gotten any response. So I was wondering if anybody has dealt with a similar situation or has any actual advice on what to do. I mean I feel I was lied to but thats just me not looking from the outside. Any posts will be helpful.

That is why they have the feedback system. Send another email saying if your issue is not at least acknowledge than negative comment will be posted.
It's really as simple as that. Any whiny excuses like "I was out of town" or similar do not hold water with me since the available ways to check one's email away from home are just too plentiful for excuses. Nothing short of hospitalization in a deep coma satisfies me when I get the impression a bad seller is trying to avoid me.

Also you never know...it could have been accidentally left out when it was packaged by the manufacturer.

I have gotten a few cd's from coumbia house with no inserts in them. At first I was thinking they were released without them but now I think it's a columbia house issue Next one and I'm calling them.
Point is there's a chance it could have shipped lacking it's insert.

Email the manufacturer and tell them that you recently purchased this dvd, but it didn't come with a booklet. They'll tell you if there was supposed to be one or not, and may even send you a new one. If there was supposed to be one, try emailing the seller a couple more times over the next two weeks. If he still doesn't respond, only leave feedback at the last possible minute (I forget how long you have - something like 3 months). That way, the seller can't retaliate. Good luck.

Well I am like 99.9 percent sure it came with a book, it was Buffy Season 4, and so far 1,2,3,5 all came with books. Thanks though I guess I will try to email this person again, he did have an 99.6 feedback and it did say "complete" so I guess I'll see. I know it says that he is responsible for all the text that was put down, how do I make that so?

Get ahold of the dvd company, say you bought it at a store and it had no booklet. one should be on its way post-haste

to be honest, no. For something so simple, they normally just ask for your address and one will be on its way. its "Thier fault" *wink* and they wont make you do anything stupid like send back the dvd's or anything else for that matter.
As a warning though, som newer dvd's have no booklets. Sinbad comes to mind.

Yes this was good advice, this is actually something I've done before. I one time purchased a season of DS9 from ebay for around 50 bucks when it was just out at over 100. It was sold as new but unsealed. When it came, the UPC code was ripped off. It is my strong belief that this was a known defective sets or return, that was liquidated to the seller. When I complained about the UPC missing and that not being mentioned in the auction the seller was a jerk about it and said that the discs were new, it didn't say the UPC wasn't ripped, etc. I didn't notice at the time that one of the discs had a manufacturing defect and I didn't give a negative feedback. When I realized the error a few months later when I got around to watching it, Paramount Home Video happily sent me a replacement disc when I sent them the defective one.
Unrelated Advice:
Be careful about giving negative feedback on ebay....unfortunately if you do most likely the seller will send you negative feedback right back, and ebay will NOT remove it, even if a lie is made up against you. I've been using ebay for multiple years and I have 100% positive feedback that I very much want to keep. Overall my ebay experiences have been good but there have been a few minor disputes. Usually it's best to let it go unless you get MAJORLY screwed. I've only given out a few negative feedbacks and that's when I was either completely ripped off/frauded, plus one time a seller's description was incorrect as far as compatibility of an item. The jerk told me that even though it was a problem with his description, I should just sell it to one of the other bidders or on ebay. IE my responsibility, not his. I filed a squaretrade claim which he ignored...ebay doesn't really do anything in these circumstances unless you either get nothing or something completely different, like you bid on a watch and get a bowling ball. In this case I just HAD to give him a negative feedback, though I was very concerned he was going to negative me back to spite me, despite me sending him a paymant instantly via paypal. For some reason he just gave me a neutral, so it still shows up as 100% positive feedback.

Companies are generally very leniant about that sort of thing. I emailed Lucas Arts, saying my PS2 copy of Escape from Monkey Island freezes when I get to a certain spot, and they sent me a totally new factory sealed copy of the game, no questions asked. That one froze too, though, so now I have two copies of a game to trade because I'm pretty sure it was just my PS2.
