Anyone else having problems with the Yoshi balloon mini game on New Super Mario Bros? I didn't notice any problems in single play... although I only played it twice. When playing it in multiplay though... my sister and I both had problems with it. Sometimes it would work fine, but about half the time it wouldn't respond at all. Even blowing right directly into it, really hard. Very frustrating! The fact that both of ours does it and our mic works fine on other things makes me wonder if this is a bug in the game or something.

Actually I've had that problem in single player. First couple of times I tried it and it worked fine. Then later on my wife gave it a go and told me she couldn't get it to work. I tried it and she was right it was akward to get Yoshi to move at all. Tried it a couple of days later and it works fine.

It's not just in the Yoshi game. I've had similar problems with Feel the Magic and Trace Memory puzzles. I think the "blow into the mic" thing can be very picky.

maybe you guys are blowing too close and directly into the mic, that's the mistake i made when i first got a DS, especially when playing Mario Kart. I realized that youre supposed to keep a fair distance away from the DS and blow onto the SCREEN, not the mic actually, or at least think you are blowing on the screen. try it...that's what works perfectly for me now.

Your supposed to blow very very lightly. I had alot of practice with the Blowing Toad minigame in Super Princess Peach. I was blowing Toad hard, I was blowing Toad fast, but I found out that blowing Toad softly is the best way to get him there :)

Now excuse me, I have to go get some listerine.

Yeah don't blow on it too hard. Blow like you're going to whistle and not too close to the mic either.

Make sure you're not eating a hearty meal while doing it.

I thought it said you had to blow into the mic to blow up the balloons... but I found just holding down the select button did it by itself.

I almost passed out the first time I played this minigame. Damn mic. Between that and the word "blue" on Brain Age, I'm starting to hate that thing.

Wow, sounds like DS players are excellent blowers! :)

I kid, I kid!

yeah i realized that after a while, but holding select is way slower than blowing...so i mean if you can get the blowing right, go for that.
