So I was looking for these 2 movies since Superman Returns is a loose sequel to Superman II and I wanted to watch them to refresh my memory. I thought the best deal was at K-Mart for $7.50 each, but my wife found them at Wal-Mart for $5.88 each. I think they are $15 each at Best Buy, so this is a pretty good deal.

It is a good deal, already was going there to see if they had Smallville seasons 3 & 4 for $16 from another thread, this will make the trip even more worthwile. Thanks for the heads up.

I'll have to stop by my local Wal Mart this weekend and see if they have them.

They should be with their big display of Superman DVDs that all the big retail chains have right now. Warner Bros. is pushing Superman pretty hard and sent out large cardboard displays to quite a few chains with the box sets and some of the movies.

if you can wait, i'd actually hold off on Supes 2 since WB is working on a rerelease of the Donner version. That one should be ready in late Q3 -- but it'll be the one to watch.

Yeah, but this one is still less than $6, plus it's a good refresher before the movie comes out. If I ever buy them again in the (distant) future it will be high-def versions, but thanks for the info on the new revision.

I stopped by and bought them. They didn't have many left, and all the Smallville sets were gone (they were marked for 30). The animated JLU movie Starcrossed was also marked less than $6, but there were none left at the Walmart I stopped by.

Again, thx for the heads up.

Yah, the whole point of buying them now is to watch them before you watch Superman Returns, which I did.

Also, by the time the rerelease comes out, I'll probably have switched to blu-ray anyway. :)

What thread listed Smallville as being on sale for $16?

Also, I might get both of these just to see them before going to the movie, but I'd rather upgrade to the mega super duper set that comes out later this year with all the movies in the series.

It was on this forum last week, but only the OP found it at that price. Most everyone else saw them for around $30.
