Controller Preference: Triggers or Buttons??

I am curious to know what everyone prefers on their controllers and what your hopes are for the next round of systems. Do you like triggers (DC, Xbox) or buttons (PS2, SNES) or some weird combination (GCN)?

My vote is for the buttons.

I don't mind triggers as long as there's 6 face buttons, because, as mentioned, triggers SUCK for fighting games.

I say I prefer buttons. Triggers are used for racing games most of the time. Besides a logitech PS2 force feedback steering wheel the old namco Negcon racing controller was the best best racing controller i've had the privelidge of owning. Anyone know of any PS2 games that support NegCon? I know ridge racer v had it. Anyone else agreee?

Triggers for Racing games and Shooters, and Buttons for everything else. For SC2, the triggers on the XBOX were fine for Soul Charge, and that felt right I guess.
